Oooh, having seen the weather forecast I might need to hang onto my hat down by the harbour - storm surge and high Spring tides - I'll take my camera - some places along there have been alerted to the possible need for evacuation this evening ........ it'll have to go some to get to my Aged Ps Care Home, but think I'll make sure I get home in daylght before the high tide is due!!!

Dove, never mind your hat, think it better you stay away from the seafront, don't want you blowing over and more knee pain. Hope all is okay with AP's.
Be careful everyone! Its certainly fresh and breezy out there. I do not envy the lorry drivers nor the many without electricity and having to prepare to evacuate. Tune into your local radio station if you think you're at risk!
(I did write a post about children / vegetables / growing your own / parents lack of knowledge / understanding / care but it turned into a bit of a rant so I had to delete it!)
Clarington - think we all agree with the unseen rant - we're probably psychic
I remember buying some peas in pods from Tesco (stop me if I've said this before) and the lad on the checkout asked what they were - "Peas" said I. "No they're not,"said he "peas are round!"
I will be careful I promise - I knew there was a reason I'd put on a few pounds - it's ballast

Oh dear! You'd have thought at least working in a supermarket they'd be sent around the vegetable section to learn how to identify "the goods"
Here's one for you: A friends daughter (whose 15) told me the other day that when she went to school with home made bread, some chunky soup in a thermos, and some apple and chocolate for snacks one of her friends offered to buy her a plate of chips so she wouldn't have to eat that "stuff". They couldn't identify what the "lumpy bits" were and seemed genuinely concerned that her mother was trying to starve / poison her! (Fortunately said lass is very sensible and enjoyed her hearty meal!)
Clarington - you're relatively new here so I can tell this one again (you others can go and make a cuppa). My brother is a large potato producer and supplies the major supermarket chains. One day whilst doing some shopping in a large supermarket (which shall be nameless) he saw that quite a few of the potatoes on display (which he had supplied) were turning green because they'd been exposed to too much light in storage. He went and found the Veg Manager on duty and showed him the potatoes without introducing himself as the potato grower ..... "Don't worry sir" was the Veg Manager's reaction, "they soon ripen." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The reaction of my brother (who is very proud of his potatoes) has gone down in legend amongst potato growers!!!

Right - one fence panel retrieved, 2x sheds damaged and done a best repair job, edging bricks made into a brick wall against wavering fence, GH has iron chair & table replaced tight against it (again), dodgy tree holding it's own very proudly...
Clari, it's good to rant, maybe wise not to have shared it though (?)
Dove, I think APs might be ok without a visit today
Mrs G, I'll go shortly 'cos it'll be worse later and much worse tomorrow from the sounds of things - it's just gusty here so far, it's working it's way down to us. Pa sounded a bit down yesterday so I told him I'd visit - brother won't be able to go this weekend because he'll be dealing with floods on the farm - he's on the Deben estuary - they may well only be accessible by tractor for a while - it wouldn't be the first time.
If you look here, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-25228837 this is the worst it's been for quite a while, and the APs are up past the top right hand corner on what might be termed 'high ground' for Suffolk!
I won't be going to the Harbour Inn for lunch!
