Thanks Dove, it wasn't just us , most shops in town had the same trouble.

Made me realise just how little cash most people carry, and how much we rely on technology.

Our nearest Waitrose store had to access our data and call all our customers to tell them about the problem as we had neither computers , nor phone lines.

    Devon.

Was the power surge due to a storm?  There was some bad weather forecast for your area today .

OH has just popped down to Waitrose on his bike for ice cream - he says we need it - with any luck he'll come back with the coconut and lime one - have you tried that?  It's wonderful image

it happened around 10 am when it was very warm and humidand not a breath of wind, but we didn't have any rain until 2.30pm and have had no thunder at all.

Just a freak incident I suppose.

Shame, because I love a good thunderstorm.

    Devon.

I love a thunderstorm - we don't get many, so they're even more exciting when they appear.

Evening all, lots of chat on here since I went on Nanna Duty.  Just checked the forecast and it looks as though the rain is going to be persisting down all night and all day tomorrow.  I know the garden needs it but I was hoping to get out there tomorrow.

I have read back but can't remember what you were all up to.  Lesley's typo really made me laugh though.

Sorry about your interview Panda, it obviously wasn't the one for you.

Now was it Chicky whose daughter has found a job in the local GC.  That could be a very expensive job for you Chicky.

Congratulations on you prize Wonky, I'm sure your dream job is just around the corner and hope OH is feeling better.

Welcome to our new Forker from Moscow, we really are becoming very international.

Hope all prom princesses have a great time.

Sorry your day was so traumatic Hosta, good idea to chill with a beer or two.

Now I really can't remember what else has been going on so I'm going to go for a look round and possibly partake of an ice cream like Dove.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

OH hasn't taken the ice cream out of the freezer yet, so I've been forced to make myself a white wine spritzer to watch Monty with - see you in the morning folks image

Up nice and early to beautiful sunshine expecting 27 degrees again today , the tits and wagtails are behaving well , woodpecker not doing anything to help his hangover ,big Siberian crows acting like big Siberian crows......lake gulls making a racket as usual .....the swifts are sleeping after a heavy night of cleaning the air of pesky biting things, all in all an uneventful morning , happy gardening today image
