Hi everyone, Welcome back BM, glad the move went OK.
Have been in the garden and bagged up all the turf etc from yesterday's endeavours. Firstborn and family have gone home after visiting mum. It's her birthday today, 93 and currently looking very well on it.
Have loads coming through in the garden, daffs, alliums, bluebells, crocus. The daffs are almost ready to open and the camellias are full of buds. I would say that about 90% of the perennials are already pushing their way through the soil. It's all very exciting.
Afternoon all. Well I'm able to sit up, get clean knickers on, so I've been back at work (I know a very foolish thing to do and I've suffered badly for it).
Right now however I'm looking at the dust on the windowsills, the ironing pile, and the mountain of paper work... time for a nap first?
Any suggestions on how to cook this afternoons beef joint?
I love slow-roast beef, Clari, but I'm sure it depends on the cut - Dove will no doubt have some yummy suggestions
Runnybeak, that hellebore is a gorgeous colour! (And right way up, when you enlarge the picture )
My OH is at Bradford watching his team beat Premiership opposition again, in the FA Cup. I think I can hear him singing on the terraces... and he'll come home a happy man (if hoarse!).
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
DD can I have a scone with the jam please they look really good
Panda nice daff, I took a pic of a daff in the garden today nearly completely open
Been to the station garden today and done lots of weeding still more to go was so nice and warm out today and sunny, so many bulbs popping up alliums, daffs, tulips and a anemone nearly out and a crocus out - white one
Covered cover the bags of horse muck with a plastic sheet to stop it when it rains getting at the paper bags
evening all . good day in the garden chicken run wood stained .raised beds forked .new compost bin in place, and more leafs bagged up . hope you all had a good valentines curry for tea ,
Beckie - I'm trying a vitamin C tablet every night to try and keep me above water. Unfortunately when you ARE the education team rest wont happen. I don't even get the school holidays off I'm starting to think my immune system has given up the ghost. This can't be normal for a 29 year old!
The beef is in the oven: lightly oiled and liberally salt and peppered. I'm now trying to hunt down a good Yorkshire pudding receipe.
I forgot to say: I went into the greenhouse today. Found a row of neat little pots with lovely healthy green shoots. I'm delighted! I also have no idea what they are.
The resolution of always putting labels in pots is going well then...
