Morning all, one last day of no HW, no heavy gardening and eating and drinking too much. Then back to normal tomorrow, have a bench to build in the shed tomorrow so I can start some seed trays for the propagator.
Really cold and crisp here this morning, frozen pond needs some hot water on it, then going for a nice long walk.
Went for a 40 mile round trip to buy peanuts for the birds yesterday, thought I had enough for over Christmas, but with the cold weather, they have been getting through them faster than I can put away chocolate brazils! Everywhere I thought would have them was closed for the holiday, ended up buying them three miles down the road.
Glad everyone had nice Christmas. We have just said goodbye to son and dil who brought the best news with them for Christmas. Their first little one expected. Joy!
Hong Kongers facetimed so we find all feel together.
minus3 at the moment but at least no snow, unusual for us. A long walk with the dogs round the loch then snuggle in i think

We've been down to the big bins where we dump our bin bags, son took them there yesterday. Daughter has lost a stocking present, a mini jewel box and she'd put her hair slides in it. We searched through all the wrapping paper, taking it all out and putting it in empty bags. It rained in the night and it was 0°. No luck, not there, my hands were red and frozen and hurt as they warmed up. Going to sit in front of the woodburner.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
GemmaJF Like the sound of your bench and seed trays - what will you start growing?
Been in garden filling compost bin, watching birds gave robin meal worms - 4 degrees out there when I went out still nice out and sunny and 3 degrees when I came back in.

Morning Forkers, Cold and frosty here, have to go out later and feed the birds as they have guzzled the lot (unless ratty has returned
).
Had a lovely day yesterday at my nieces in Shrewsbury. Too much food (she's a fabulous cook) and lots of silly games fuelled by too much alcohol.
Plan to spend today doing as little as possible and keeping nice and cosy in front of the fire.
Must have missed that post BL what did she lose? Dont envy your quest, make sure you use lots of antibacterial gel.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Hope you got a new microwave.

Hi KEF, did get a new microwave, it was used a lot for baby food and bottles. Not easy though, all the ones I wanted had been sold!
Have just spoken to daughter, she found the missing pressie this morning, wish she'd rung then!
