I did hear that, Dove, I just haven't heard anyone pronounce it like that.

I've a feeling that MD may be a bit of a pedant in his own way.   It seems to be something that goes with gardening image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I'm going to see MD this Weds (imageimage) - maybe I'll ask himimage

Never attempted to pronounce it before, so it will be easy for me to become one of the new "nip-hoff" brigade.

had rain, but not much - could do with some more, but gentle and overnight pleaseimage

Need to get the sewing machine out today - our garden umbrella needs patching.  Thinking back, i think we have had it 16 years, so can't complain.

will also be potting up some sweetpeas, sowing some more foxgloves (outside this time) and feeding my clematisimage

Good news about Shadow.  Also, meant to ask Lizzie, did your seedlings survive the attentions of your housesitter??

I've never inspired anyone to sing before MrsGimage.  The snow only lasted for about 20 minutes and it wasn't cold enough for it to lie.  it was a surprise thoughimage.

Lily I'm between Edinburgh and Glasgow.  When I sort cupboards it's usually all the different spices that are years out of date having bought them for a specific recipe that wasn't on the 'keepers' list.

Chicky I think you're  star to patch up your umbrellaimage.  I would probably say we needed a new oneimage
