Verdun, It is, isn't it - almost like a saw!  What are you going to plant around yours?  Will you be able to 'mask' the foliage a bit?

    Morning all.

Dove and Verdun, see page 28. in GW mag for lovely pic of. red hot pokers with rudbeckia (echinacea?)  ( wll that's what they look like to me). image I remember using the leaves as swords as a child. Never grown them as always seemed to be a blast from the past (ie old fashioned) but they are making a revival aren't they now. Not watched GW yet.

PD wish I was going to Harrowgate but instead will go to an ngs tomorrow

    Morning all.

Right true story coming up. MY friend's Father in Law, a very stuffy , ever so , ever so, sort of a chap, decided he wanted some Red Hot Pokers, but thought he'd ask for the proper name.

All the way to the GC he was saying Kniphofia ,Kniphofia,Kniphofia,Kniphofia.

When he got there , he marched up the sales guy and said .....

" I'm looking for necrophilia please"

Honest guys, I'm not making it up.

    Devon.

Verdun, what colour Pokers have you ordered?  Was it the buttery yellow one?

    K. Little Maid I think it was.

I had it in my last garden in Hants, but the soil was too light and sandy, it didn't do well.
