  • Chin up DD x, you will break the back of it soon! What are the winters like there? It may be a blessing if you have a cold snap as it will give you a head start with the weeds next year. image

Are the aches and pains gone now SGL? image
  • D'Damsel, those are pictures of my beds earlier this year. When did you sneak in and photograph them?image

Seriously it gets to the stage when only a good clear out, saving the best in pots and giving it a good dig over, will do. I have done this to several beds and I now have my new terrace, my stumpery and some new beds/colour schemes. More going on as we speak too. Earlier this year I was a bit down about being overwhelmed, until I decided on drastic measures. Now a happy bunny.

  • Yes thank you bekkie.......just my sister being a pain lol image

  • Oops, forgot to thank Verd. for the advice on Testacea. It will definitely feature in my grasses scheme. Lots of tall b*******image and testacea as a smaller partner.image

  • Woody, im amazed how you look after so much garden! image
  • Thank you for the boost Woody - overwhelmed is definitely a good description. imageHopefully - she says - we will get a bit of cold weather and can really catch up with everything. image

Seems such a shame because there are some nice plants buried in there, keep finding old plant labels, previous owner definitely had it well stocked, maybe they will reappear next year. Two labels for peonies, but no sign of them. image

Have salvaged a few bulbs though, they are small white ones, snowdrops perhaps??? image

Woody I just bought a Libertia for beside my new little pond - 'Goldfinger'. It's a lovely bronzy gold colour. Looks a bit like an Acorus /skinny Phormium- same kind of habit. Has little white flowers in spring, but the colour is lovely. About 2 feet high or so.  That might be worth taking a look at for your grass border. I put a pic on here somewhere ...will try and find it image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Back from the funeral only to find another email saying another lady I know here in France's husband died yesterday, funeral Friday image

Think I recognise that bed DD, good luck. Won't be so bad next year, once you get it sorted.

    Evening Forkers image

Have been struggling to put a smile on my face for the last couple of days so have been a it quiet.

I made it up in time this morning Lily image Am just so tired at the moment I am finding it difficult to get enthusiastic about anything. And my situation is so much better and easier than others. Sorry, just having a mope. Am having dinner this evening with my two friends (it's a monthly thing) and hopefully they'll be able to cheer me up!
