    Good morning all,

It's back to work/school for me and Charlie after a fabulous holiday. As ever, holidays are good but I'm glad to get back into a routine. Lots to catch up at work too. It was nice to meet up with my gentleman friend again too last evening, he cooked a lovely dinner for me. He has family visiting this week, some of them live in the south of France, so I'm invited to the family gathering on Wednesday, a little bit intimidating, but he assures me that it'll be fine.Ā

Lots of cake baking to catch up with today and the dreaded paperwork of course.Ā

Hope everyone is ok, glad to hear you enjoyed your weekend @punkdoc, hope the back isn't too bad @Busy-Lizzie and your OH and son aren't suffering too much @Dovefromabove. Interesting photos @Pat E, we don't have to think about such things here, but you've obviously got it all sorted out. Enjoy your snooze.Ā

Best wishes to everyone else, catch up later.Ā

Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļø and hello @Pat E  … thanks for the photos and very clear description of how things have to be managed. Ā

When my family first moved to the farmĀ in Suffolk in the 1950s it had only just been connected to mains water … prior to that there had been a big tank collecting water from the farmhouse roof, and a well in the garden which used to have hand pump to the kitchen  …. and other water was drawn from the moat around the farmyard.Ā

It wasn’t until the local authority Ā built a row of council houses in the village as part of tthe effort to house families who had been made homeless because of wartime bombing, that the tiny village was connected to the mains water supply. Ā There’s still no mains drainage there tho.Ā

That’s fascinating, @Pat E, makes me appreciate our easy access to water even more.Ā

    Hi all

A definite feel of Spring, although still grey and chilly, it was lovely to see how much the garden had changed in just 4 days.
I will be seed sowing today, a task that always fills me with hope.
Also need to plan something for Moira’s birthday, she is 60 next month, and it will be our 30th wedding anniversary.

    Morning everyone,

That was very interesting about your rain collection system @Pat E. Also good to hear you don’t need to see the endocrinologist any more.

A grey, chilly start here today, rather different to yesterdays blue skies and sunshine.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel, but, as you say, good to get back into routine. I’m sure your meal with your friends family will go a treat.

    Morning all

thank you for the photos @Pat E. We forget how precious water is, I will show the pics to my OH, he likes engineering solutions.
Ah @punkdoc lovely to plan for your OH big day.
    How's @Busy-Lizzie this morning?

It is drizzling here but should stop at around 11. I have some viola plugs to put in a container, enjoyable work. We go to a concert tonight, Al di Meola, we have to go early ish as it is "free seating" and we need to sit.Ā

    Morning all.

My back is still painful, thanks @coccinella and @D0rdogne_Damsel.

We are driving friends to the station then picking up OH's car. Had thought of going to M&S as OH needs some slippers but not sure my back is up to it. I will have to drive as OH can't drive my French car in the UK. Rules.

    It's been raining.
