    Morning all.

I had lie in as we were up late (for me), plus no need to get up for my usual SM run today as I went yesterday - mainly to avoid today’s double whammy of pre Mothering Sunday shoppers meet pre rugby match shoppers.

I have so much to do in the garden, particularly after yesterday’s chopping down of an old Holly tree (no danger of birds in that - it was very sparse and too open for any nests), but it looks like drizzle all day here. I might do an hour though.

Have a good weekend all. What time is that fruit cake ready Dove? 😉

Hello all, cloudy but not too cold so I've finished pruning the roses and fed them. I seem to find them more work over the years and i don't have many!
I woke up in the night with an awful pain in my knee, I think it's going the same way as my hip, perhaps my surgeon could do a two for one!
That's my lot for today so I shall watch the rugby, and it's a nice strong black coffee for me please @punkdoc.

    good afternoon all

we are having decent weather if a little cold. I went to the sm this morning and bought myself a new frying pan with removable handle. Prices go from 11 euros to 85! I spent about 30 for a 28cm dia.
I am glad the eyes are better @Badly_Maintained I use some drops for dry eyes called Hyaback but more often than not I forget.
Hope your back is on its way to recovery @Busy-Lizzie
That was hard work @Lizzie27, well done for managing to move the slabs and replacing them. Best wishes for your brother.
We are off to Lisbon tomorrow for a short rerun of a holiday we took in 1988! We'll post some pics if I manage to take a few decent ones. I still have my cold so I have packed plenty of tissues and Paracetamol, I am confident I will forget about it as soon as I am sitting in a nice fish restaurant.
To all those watching the rugby may your team win and a good weekend to you all.

    Good afternoon all!!

Un express pour moi @punkdoc  Et bien entassé, s'il vous plaît!!

Rainy, windy, blustery and a day to be inside to watch the rugby.  Relaxing afternoon as my lovely friend is here from Montpellier as we have a jazz evening again tonight.  Starting at 6.30pm with wine and tapas and a free jazz jam with the concert starting at 8.30pm in the theatre part of the complex.   We had raclette for lunch without the salami and dried meats (not good for blood pressure etc.) Just the potatoes and melted cheese with a couple of steaks "saignants" and a healthy salad.

I bid you all well and a happy Saturday.

    Good afternoon,
well, after a dull, grey start it is now beginning to brighten up a bit with a hint of sun. Still got that chilly, easterly breeze though.
Going to have some soup for lunch and then not sure. OH might watch the rugby but I won’t as it doesn’t interest me. I’m sure I’ll find something to do.

Well that's me done.  I've managed to get the Miscanthus Malpartus out only to find that the little apple tree I was hoping to save is completely dead.  It may be honey fungus - it's not too far from where the viburnum was (which had honey fungus).  Plan was to divide the Miscanthus into several pieces to pot up to sell out our In Bloom stall - lots of lovely new shoots coming through.  But it is a huge rootball and I cannot find my pruning saw anywhere.  The old breadknife just isn't doing it.  So - off to the GC tomorrow for a new one.
I merrily thought - I'll dig up the miscanthus, divide it, prune the apple tree and roses, take down the old bean frame and maybe do a bit of weeding.  But I just don't have the puff for it all.
Hats off to all of you cracking on with it this afternoon!
