🐣HELLO FORKERS 🐣 March ā€˜24 🐣

And suddenly the dark damp days of February are behind us, and although we may yet still feel the March winds, the days are getting longer and brighter, the soil is beginning to warm up and golden daffodils are dancing in the sunlight.Ā
Now it’s time for gardeners to really start preparing for the growing season … there’s seedbeds to rake down to a fine tilth and seeds to sow on our windowsills and in greenhouses … and when we feel in need of company, someone we can share the bits and bobs of life with who will understand our triumphs and disasters, we can come here to the Potting Shed … the seats are comfy, the kettle is always on … and there may be a biscuit or two, or even a freshly made cake …
… so welcome to all; find a comfy corner and chat about your day …

    White rabbits!

    Good morning everyone!

What a lovely introduction @Dovefromabove Ā  Full of hope. Ā How lovely to open the window so early in the morning. Ā Chilly here with a cold north wind.

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Happy St. David's day.Ā  Morning everyone and many thanks to Dove for once again starting yet another new month for us - where is the time going, it seems to pass so fast these days?
We are some 800 feet up here @AuntyRach and looking out at the car's rear window I can see a light layer of snowy flakes sitting there, obviously the end residue of our overnight rain as the temperature took a sudden drop. I think we may see a little more of the white stuff today - keep warm folks.

    Morning all.

@Dovefromabove must be hardier than me. Our bedroom window is shut. It is only open in winter later on to air the room after I'm dressed.

OH's passport with his French Visa in it arrived at midday yesterday! 😁 He is so relieved, we won't have to worry about when to time our trips this year. It meant that we weren't late for lunch with our friends either.
We enjoyed lunch and the afternoon with them

Heavy rain is forecast. There have been very few days without rain and the patio has gone green and badly needs a good sweep and Patio Magic.

Thank you for welcoming us to March @Dovefromabove!Ā  In like a lion?Ā  Not really, but not really lamblike either.Ā  We'll see how it plays out.Ā Ā
I am fond of saying - it has snowed on my birthday before now!Ā  My birthday is on the 31st and I remember snow piled up at the sides of the roads after the Beast from the East a few years ago.Ā  So for me spring doesn't really happen until after my birthday.Ā  My dad always used to get his spuds in on my birthday or Easter, whichever came first.Ā  This year he wouldn't have had any doubt!Ā Ā

So wet here now it could be a sealion @didyw šŸ™„Ā
I remember Laxfield Church Plain being white with snow on my Little Grannie’s birthday (6 June) one year when Wonky was small … East Anglian weather all depends which way the wind is blowing …

June!Ā  That's outrageous @Dovefromabove!Ā  Competing with the poppies that grow so abundantly around there.

Morning all, thank you @Dovefromabove for that lovely welcome to March.
More heavy rain overnight so there is standing water everywhere again. I have Penstemon cuttings in the greenhouse which all seem to be growing away nicely.
Happy St. David's Day to all in Wales.
