    Good morning folks.

That's so true @Bluejayway  - and, we can see how much we have left over as well.  Too easy to swipe the card for some.

Water tanks @Pat E  Coming from a semi-rural area in New Zealand, I was used to the concrete water tanks beside people's homesteads.  So when I came to France, it didn't strike me as being different when I saw huge tanks at the local wine Co-operative.  But they weren't filled with water!!  Oh no!  The huge concret tanks are still used to cool the grape juice down to stop fermentation and then ....it becomes wine!!  Yaaay!!  Stainless steel tanks are more in use these days for this.

Windy, cold but sunny.  Seed sowing today - 5th March.  Tomatoes and peppers to start.

I hope your back goes after some rest @Busy-Lizzie  And glad you are feeling a bit better @coccinella.  Things are moving along for you @D0rdogne_Damsel  I hope he can stand your pace during the coming seasons when your business is at its zenith.  Great for you to have someone to think about!!

I hope everyone enjoys their day in the garden today.

We didn't go to M&S. Changing gear hurt my back.

Turned out really rather nice, so I managed a couple of hours pottering, and directing the under gardener.

The sun is out! OH came out to help, and we have shredded the mountain of laurel branches, plus a pile of brambles, both green bins are full, and down by the road for tomorrow’s collection. Phew! Now I’m recovering with a cold drink. My back is complaining already. It’s shame we couldn’t have filled one bin a week, rather than the usual last minute scramble, but the weather just did not cooperate. Just lucky we had a dry enough day to get the shredders out.
Hope your back eases up soon, @Busy-Lizzie . At least mine will recover by tomorrow.

Afternoon all, gosh, what a lot of posts to read! Beautifully sunny here after some rain overnight so I've also been pruning the yellow winter jasmine which had got right out of hand. I may have to think about taking it right out as the roots are pushing over the retaining slabs at the base.

Hope your back soon gets better @Busy-Lizzie. Nuisance about the car insurance though.

Those water tanks look massive @Pat E, thanks for explaining the set up, very interesting. Glad you don't have to see the consultant any more.

Good you enjoyed your holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel, as you say, back to work with vengeance but don't overdo it and enjoy the family get together on Wednesday. Your friend sounds really nice.

    Enjoy the concert @coccinella.

Apologies if I missed mentioning anybody, can't remember all, enjoy the rest of your day anyway.

Back out into the garden before sunshine disappears!

Afternoon all. Sunshine and showers here.

Went to Cardiff to do some shopping today. Very difficult to find an outfit for an upcoming wedding. I’ve not been occasion frock shopping for a long time! After ruling out things too short, too strappy, too frumpy, too young, too uncomfortable, and too loud - I’ve gone for a black and white dress - not particularly classic wedding colours but with a cream jacket and shoes, it will
look ok. It’s around Easter time, so goodness knows what weather we will have!

    I hope everyone is behaving.

Right, everything organised for Moira's 60th. We will be going to L'enclume in the Lakes earlier in the month, and then to York for 2 days over her birthday, she has wanted to visit the Minster for some time.
