    Morning all.

I had a dreadful night, my back is much worse and I feel sick. Got an appointment with a chiropractor this afternoon.

Poor @Busy-Lizzie. Very good that you have been able to get an appointment so quickly. Hope you can get some rapid relief. Mine was really twinging when I came in from the garden yesterday, too much bending down to pick up branches, but I had an hours nap and that seemed to settle it down. Fine this morning.

    Hi all

A beautiful morning, after early morning fog, must get out there.

I have been having real issues getting through to the DWP in order to try and pay for my missing years. I have tried most days for the last 10 days, several times a day, and they are always engaged. It is so frustrating.

Hope you get your back sorted, @Busy-Lizzie, they are so frustrating, we have still not evolved properly to walk on 2 legs.

Morning everybody, brilliantly sunny day after a heavy frost first thing and forecast is that it soon warm up - we might even get up to 10c!

I'm shortly driving OH to the Surgery for minor procedure to remove a lump then I might treat him to lunch at the nearby GC. Unfortunately he probably won't be able to lift 4 bags of manure and a grobag for me so that will have to wait!

So sorry to hear your back is worse @Busy-Lizzie and hope the chiropractor can help.

That's a real nuisance @punkdoc, if you don't get any response in the next few weeks, I suggest you write to your local MP, they are usually quite good at getting answers from Government departments.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hello again folks … I’ve looked at two cars, discounted one but like the other … a white Punto … however the garage is going to service and Mot it etc and it needs a new alternator … then he’ll let me know when it’s ready and I’ll test drive it properly … it’s a bit more than I’d intended to spend but it’s newer than the other one … so I’ll be car-less for a few more days but we’ll manage  … I think I’ll be happy with the Punto … they’re virtually the same as the Alfa MiTo and that suited me just fine.

Now I need to get ready for choir …

That car sounds good @Dovefromabove, hope you'll be happy with it.

Utter shambles this morning as OH's minor op was cancelled half an hour before we left home - GP had discovered that the Surgery didn't have any dissolvable sutures in stock!! Blamed it on staff sickness/shortages. Now postponed for another fortnight, OH is absolutely livid, having psyched himself up and got ready to have it done. He did have the grace to say that he wished he'd listened to me four years ago and had it done privately!

The good news is that I was able to garden after all as the weather was good. I wanted to dig out the winter jasmine roots from the bank and having done that with a bit of a struggle this morning, decided to dig a couple of feet of the bank out to improve a rather precarious access to the back of our old garage. Did 2 hours and got most of it done but will suffer in the morning. Had a hot shower and lots of Voltarol was applied.

Thank goodness we're just having a ready made lasagne tonight!

Evening everyone,  typical on z nice dry day had to wait in for a delivery,  tho at least it did come.
I'm a bit gloomy here TBH, I have an eye clinic appointment tomorrow and I'm fearing bad news. My eyes have been very stable for a long time but there's  a sudden change in one eye and if my suspicions are right it will become a big issue over time,  all I can hope is , either I'm wrong or  the deterioration can be delayed as long as possible. ☹️

I hope it isn't bad news @Allotment Boy.

Been to the chiropractor, nice young man. I've been questioned, examined and pummelled. 2 arthritic lumbar vertebrae had grated when I twisted causing sharp pain which had sent the 2 long muscles on each side of the spine into spasm. He said it would help to go for a proper walk each day to keep fit. As it has rained so often my walking has been rather neglected. Then, when we get a rare decent day I rush out to do over enthusiastic gardening. Some of the manipulation was painful, like massaging a bruise. It was supposed to relax the muscles out of spasm.

He said time, painkillers and more walking would do the trick but I would probably still be achey for the drive to France next week.

    Evening folks.

Just had a phone message to say the water will be off overnight so I filled kettles etc. then checked website and no works in the list… phone scam maybe? (It’s one where you press 1 to confirm etc. which I never do, of course).

I hope your muscles are better for the treatment @Busy-Lizzie - sounds like the cure is worse than the ailment there! Ouch!
Watch out @Lizzie27, @Ergates, and others who are starting their gardening year with more strenuous activity than we are ‘warmed-up’ for!

That sucks @Allotment Boy   I hope the clinic can help you through whatever you are facing.

New car is exciting @Dovefromabove - hope you get back on the road soon.

    Take care everyone.
