Thank you! Feels like I have a big circle of unseen friends!Ā
Terrible heavy rain tonight. Will it ever stop? It’s such a shame that many of our favourite walks across fields and footpaths are inaccessible, or so muddy as to be downright dangerous. My day off from gardening, after getting the green bins filled, has now stretched to four days off. I can foresee I’ll be back to last minute panic mode before the next collection date.
The rugby result was a surprise. I was on the phone to son, and could suddenly hear the grandsons and friends screaming in the background!Ā
Hope you get some rain, @Pat E , and your electricity supply isn’t interrupted again.

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Hmm we’ve woken to fine misty drizzle … that very wet penetrating sort … that wasn’t in the forecast yesterday …

Ive also woken with a very sore whateveryoucallit … that muscle at the base of your shoulder blade … I feel as if I’ve been bowling for an England Test team all night … wonder how that happened šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« I’ll get OH to rub Deep Heat into it. That’ll sort it out. šŸ‘Ā

Hope everyone has a lovely day today, whatever your plans are this Mothering Sunday. 🌷
We don’t make a big thing of it in our family … As my children were growing up I’d have been in the church choir so they’d have come to the service with their father, have already delivered chocolates etc to his mother who lived nearby and then we piled into the car to visit my mother who lived at Southwold … so it was all rushing about … and the thing about having a long-lived mother is that Mother’s Day was all about her, not me 😊 Ā

When I was a child I would make a card and pick a post of primroses for Ma … otherwise it was the same as any other Sunday on the farm.Ā

Back in earlier days Mothering Sunday might be one of the few times in a year that you saw your mother if you were away ā€˜in service’ as many daughters were. Ā They were given that one Sunday off before the work of preparing for Easter at ā€˜the big house’ began. Ā In these days of instant communication and easy travel, that’s almost unimaginable.Ā

Grey and wet, an inside day.
Happy Mothers day to all our Mothers.
How can you lie there and think of England

    hello allĀ

we are all packed and quite nervous (first "foreign" holiday in a long time). We have very good seats on the plane and for some mysterious reason un upgrade to business class waiting room, not that we will go. Maybe because we booked the hotel through the airline as a package.Ā
The boys are not into mothering Sunday either Dove. But one of them did mention it during our call this morning and he is in the Netherlands where they have it in May I think.Ā

    Have a nice Sunday all.

I just had a text from Wonky … her card hasn’t arrived yet … (she posted it several days ago but our post has been erratic lately … think our regular chap is off sick) but no matter, it’s the thought that counts … i know I’m loved 🄰 … and she’ll phone me later. They’ve got her stepson coming for dinner later … it’s a sensitive time for them as he’s only young and he lost his mum just a couple of years ago. Ā She doesn’t try to take her place, but she and L are close and he really values her input in his life.Ā

Then I just came downstairs to find a Mother’s Day ā€˜Wonder Woman’ card and a huge box of chocs from son. Sooooo different to last Mothers Day when we were driving back and forth to Broomfield Burns Unit where he was in a coma on life support. Ā

And R3 have just played Pavarotti singing Rigoletto ā¤ļøĀ

OH is getting ready for work … he’ll he back just after 3 … I’ll have a quiet day at home resting this shoulder … Ā Sainsbugs are delivering between 4-5 … and then we’ll have a Chinese takeaway.Ā

    Morning all.

Back from a lovely Mothering Sunday service with 3 posies, one is for our NDN. There was chocolate cake and coffee. There were a lot of people there.

I won't have anything from my children as Mothers' Day in France is in May.

This evening we are going for drinks with our friends down the road who also have a home in France.
