Good morning all āļøĀ Iāve joined Gardeners Corner @punkdoc as have quite a few other regulars ā¦ I hope youāll join us there. Itās not the same but Iām not such an old codger that I canāt adapt.Ā
Life throws these things at us ā¦ how we adapt is what is important ā¦ Ā the other day I had a lovely Alfa Romeoā¦ then an idiot crashed into it ā¦ today Iām probably going to buy a Punto ā¦. not the same, but itāll do the job and Iāll have to adapt to the differences Ā ā¦Ā
I felt a terrible loss at the news yesterday - almost like letting go of a rope. Ā Having to get used to a new site scared me a bit, but it seems that I am now registered and I have posted. Ā So now what? Ā How do we skite about our Wordle exploits? Ā How do we have a curmudgeon moan? Ā Obviously, gardening questions will be answered - the reason for a gardening site.
I am also "letting go" , as I have made (for me) a major decision to sell the family home and move on. Ā Happy memories and sad too. Ā This beautiful home will suit another happy family. Ā Contributed to the Decluttering Thread which is what I have been doing - that is hard. Ā 45 year old wedding gifts that have never been used etc. etc. Memories, memories cluttering up the cupboards. Ā Yes, I will be down sizing which means this will probably be the last year of my vegetable garden on the scale that it is. Ā I hope to have a spot for a few tomato plants next year!! Ā Ā Onwards and upwards as we say.
Ā Your input is important to many of us @punkdoc with our ails in and our of the garden!! Ā Thank you for guiding us through Covid and its lockdowns. Ā I hope that @Pat E is able to register. Ā It will take a while to get used to the layout....but hey - where there's a will, there's a way!!
Ā One question about the GC site: Ā I typed up an introduction but couldn't post because I had to type in the "participants" box and I don't know if I was posting to someone in particular. Ā What do I type in the box?
After a brillant summer's day yesterday - it is overcast and the sun has taken a day off. Still good to get a few more weeds out.
Wishing you the best of luck in your downsizing @tui34.Ā We did just that 20+ years ago.Ā We still have a couple of boxes in the outhouse of things that there was no room for in our new, smaller, house!
I tried to get on GC last night but IĀ was on my mobile and the pictures to prove I'm not a robot were too small and unclear,Ā despite multiple attempts.Ā IĀ have this eye scan later today so I won't be able to do it later. We are away on our trip soon so if IĀ dissappear for a while don't be surprised.Ā Ā In the meantime thanks to all for your company,Ā advice, and friendship.Ā Ā Ā Hope to see you all againĀ on GC if I can ever get on there.Ā
Loved your post @WonkyWomble, so well expressed. I will have a look at the GC website sometime today but I was wondering if they have a place like our 'village hall' where we can meet to chat about life, problems, happy events and life in general, or are their threads/topics all plant related? As I can no longer garden due to health problems I do most of my posting here while I still read/lurk on the whole site in general, and I'm not too sure whether I want to spend my time trawling through gardening only threads without the ability to find somewhere like here to offer congratulations on birthdays, marriages, holidays, places visited etc., even commiserations on illnesses, accidents and other sad moments, all while sharing coffee, tea and cake. Oh I am going to miss you lovely folks.
Hello everybody, raining again so that's gardening postponed again. I'm hoping it might clear up soon to allow a quick walk round the garden at least.
You're not alone @AnnaB, I feel very sad and a bit apprehensive.Ā I have registered on the new site and will have a look later, I'm sure it's just a question of getting used to the layout. I would like to know though just who is hosting it, I can see no details at all, although volunteers have been mentioned.
