    Good morning all!!

Believe it or not we have had some decent rainfall!!  Unfortunately on Saturday it was hosing down as we were just on our way out to the jazz concert - something got wet and the automatic gates didn't open so there was a bit of a panic!!  Nevertheless, we got there and had a most enjoyable evening.  Kyle Eastwood was the main attraction, playing music from his father's (Clint) films that he had helped to compose.  The theatre was packed.

Yesterday was clement with sunshine but too wet underfoot for weeding etc.    Never mind, after all this rain, the windows need a clean!!  Today is sunny and yes, windy.

I wish everyone an exceptional start to the week!!

Oh that is good news about the sleeping @punkdoc!

To my daughter's yesterday for a lovely late lunch cooked by my SIL who is a very good cook.  Even though he's very busy as the moment (landscape gardener and his wedding venue clients are realising they need lots of work doing) he will be coming to me on Tuesday to prune back the rosa banksiae which has got very whippy and to take out the two little apple trees which have died.

And I will use my new pruning saw to chop up the miscanthus.  Hopefully it will do the job better than the old bread knife.

Entassé @Ergates means the coffee grains to be well packed/tightly packed into the coffee express maker.

    Bon appétit!

Morning all.  After a bit of dry at the end of last week,  yesterday was horrendous we were out and about though   at a 70th birthday do on Saturday night   then lunch out yesterday for mothers day and older SD birthday.
Update on the eye issue  as I think I said I have Glaucoma , I have been managing it for some time,  fortunately it's stable,  BUT,  just over a week ago I noticed some vertical lines on the window looked a bit Wonky.  This is a classic symptom of AMD or Macular disease.  For those who don't know  with Glaucoma you loose peripheral vision with AMD you loose centre vision.  It doesn't take much knowledge to work out the net result. The appointment on Thursday was a routine Glaucoma check, I discussed the issue with the Doctor,  he tried to get me in today for another scan (OCT  scan) BUT he called this morning and the machine is broken down, so now I am going to a different clinic on Thursday,  to confirm or deny my suspicion.  My Father had Glaucoma   my mother had AMD.
My Sister who is 7 years older than me  already has both, she had to give up her car  last year.
    More sleepless nights.......

Well, I managed to lose everything I had typed so trying again 🤞.

Another dreary day here, but at least the rain has stopped for now.

Glad you had another good nights sleep @punkdoc.

Like Dove, 🤞for a good prognosis for you @Allotment Boy .

Not long back from the coffee morning natter group. Always good to see everyone. Now it’s almost lunch time, finishing up some home made pizza, then I’d better get on with a few tasks.

Hope you all have a good afternoon, and safe travels to all embarking on journeys soon.

  • Afternoon all.
Best wishes to @Allotment Boy   I hope someone is able to do something to help you, or there is some new breakthrough treatment which arrives very soon.
I hope your shoulder is improving every day @Dovefromabove
Wonderful to hear that @punkdoc is finally getting the sleep he needs.
Dry today, but 100% cloud cover.  Winds lighter than they have been all week.  If the weather holds - and nothing unexpected comes up - I'll try to sow a few more hardy annual seeds this afternoon.
As always - best wishes to all.

    Evening all,

We're back home after a very long, tiring and emotional weekend away visiting my poorly brother. All my siblings managed to get there and we did manage a few laughs and did a lot of reminiscing of family camping holidays in the Scottish Highlands.

Very, very tired tonight after three sleepless nights so looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
