Love the Camelia. Good morning everyone. Ā We woke to a loud thunder, lightning and driving rain storm. Could be an interesting day.

Good morning allĀ  :) ā˜•ļø and hello @Pat E … hope the storms haven’t been too bad šŸ¤žĀ
Son left here half an hour ago heading for Oxford re work … he tiptoed out so quietly I hardly heard him … I was awake with this chestikoff … if I’d not been awake I’d never have noticed him leaving. Ā I’ve made myself a mug of decaf …

    Hi all

Heard strange noises about 3am, went out to investigate and our usual badger had been joined by a friend. They were having great fun tearing up the lawn.

Right, time to have another go at sleeping.

Hope your day improved somewhat @Pat E.
Have the flooded roads cleared @Dovefromabove, has Rob driven himself or was he picked up?
What were you thinking of @punkdoc trampling round outside in the middle of the night? I seem to remember you having an accidental trip up a little while after your first hip op. Do take care.
Still having frequent rain showers here and last night the rain drops on the windows turned briefly into those splodgy spots that look like snowflakes. Brrrrrr.

    Morning all

a lighter sky this morning, windy. Impossible to work in the garden, too wet. So I am off to aquagym.

@Lizzie27, that must have been a distressing situation for your son. I sincerely hope the person in question gets the help they need.Ā

One week in and one to go on my low iodine diet. Already fed up of eating meat and jam toasts (I make the unsalted bread). Lots of veggies too actually, I wonder if I have lost weight ...

    Naaaah.Ā

Wishing all with chesty coughs, bad backs and general unwellness a getting better soon and a nice day even if most of us will be in the rain and wind.Ā

    Good morning all,

a bright start here, but very chilly. We’ve had rain through the night by the look of things.

Up early today as I’ve got an early hair appointment, and goodness me, it’s ready for doing.

I do hope you hear more positive news today @debs64. It seems as if one half of the company doesn’t realise just what’s needed - more staff not fewer staff. šŸ¤ž for a positive outcome and sorry that you are all enduring this uncertainty.

Careful @punkdoc, wandering around in the dark. Don’t you go tripping.

Morning @Pat E. I hope the storm doesn’t last too long.

Well, I’d better go, or I’ll be late for the hairdresser.

Take care and I hope you all have a good day.

    Morning all.

    Well done @Lizzie27's son.

After a horrid wet day yesterday the sun is now shining and there is some blue sky.

We had booked our favourite pub restaurant, in Suffolk, to take our friends to. We are still going there for lunch today, without our friends.

I hope the badgers haven't completely wrecked @punkdoc's lawn.

There’s still some floods on side roads @AnnaB … but the main roads are nearly all clear apparently. Yes Rob is driving himself. 😊
    Have a lovely lunch @Busy-Lizzie 😊
    @punkdoc please take care 😨

We had a lovely visit from my SIL yesterday.Ā  She only lives in the next town but we haven't seen her since before Christmas.Ā  They have a little place in France where they spend half their time and last time my SIL became ill - with pneumonia!Ā  She was treated there but they cut their visit short to return home where she had a long recovery, wanting no visitors.Ā  So it was lovely to see her.Ā  She looks well but has lost a lot of weight.

My daughter has rung - can I give her a lift into school this afternoon?Ā  She wants to get ahead of herself in readiness for back to school next week.Ā  They all do this - work during the holidays for no pay.Ā  Teachers are amazing.

Morning everybody, the day started well with a glimmer of sunshine and no rain but looks to be clouding over now. A bit on the chilly side, only just over 6c. I decided to walk to the papershop with OH and as the country lane is still flooded, wore wellies.
They are only the short ones though and I only just made it without getting wet. Had to hang onto OH, a bit scary how easy it was to slightly lose my footing, just with the wash from our wellies. One dog walker we met with a tiny dog had had to wade in, just in trainers, to rescue her dog, the water was deeper than it and she got soaked.

Glad you had a good visit from your SIL @didyw. Mine's home from hospital thank goodness so I must ring up and see how she is. My sister stayed overnight and was going home this morning, very carefully, as there are floods between the two places.

It's odd, we have or had, loads of badgers round here but don't think they've ever come into the garden to my knowledge. It would be easy to do as we don't have a gate across the drive.

A pub lunch sounds good @Busy-Lizzie, hope you get there safely and enjoy it.

I'm hoping it will stay dry enough to wander outside after my coffee and cake.
