Hot and muggy does make you breathless @Pat E.Ā I much prefer the dry heat I remember from our Greek holidays.
I'm with you on Breathtaking @Dovefromabove.Ā It feels a bit too soon.Ā The govt. won't watch it and they're the ones that need to.Ā If they had a shred of conscience they would sort out better pay for the doctors and nurses.Ā I was amazed that they haven't been properly recognised.Ā Soldiers returning from war are given medals.
More info when you have it on moving one's eyes from side to side please @Ergates! Tonight is the business thing - must get on with preparing my presentation.
Morning all, it's horrible out there this morning so glad my daughter's not battling up the M5 after all although I shall miss her visit. We had planned a day out shopping in Bath, I haven't been in since before Xmas so was quite looking forward to it. I badly need a haircut asap so will ring her later.
I'm now watching Breathless either, can't cope with bad news TV, gives me nightmares. As Dove says there's enough going on in our personal lives at the moment not to be able to cope with more.
Glad to hear your friend is improving @Ergates and sorry to hear your friend has had to postpone @Busy-Lizzie.
I'm just finishing my coffee whilst waiting for the rain to ease off, have to pop to the shops and pick up meds but will drive down, don't fancy getting soaked.
My lovely new hyacinths 'City of Harrlem' are out on the kitchen windowsill (outside) a very pale lemon colour, very cheerful today in the gloom.
Just done a search on line, @didyw, itās called EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. An option for treating PTSD, ( I think Harry Windsor is a fan, which is no advert) but seems to be a recognised therapy. Worth a look.
It was very wet here this morning but brightened up later in the afternoon. Iād already decided that today was going to be book cull day. We have so, so many and some I will never read again, so 2 crates full and 3 bags full are off to the library. They have been asking for books that are in good condition, so that was the incentive I needed. Still got lots of books, but at least all the book shelves are no longer 2 deep with books and we can see what weāve got. I find it very difficult to let go of books, but really it was looking like a book shop in several roomsš.
Pleased to hear that your friend is improving @Ergates.
I know what you mean about some of the programmes on tv. Iām sure they are very good, but for my sanity Iām giving them a wide berth and limiting the news on tv, too. Iām not avoiding it, itās important to be aware of whatās happening, but I am being selective in what and how much I watch.
Torrential rain this morning has given way to a dry evening.Ā
Iāve commented on āBreathtakingā on the covid thread. Iāll finish watching it tonight and see what I make of it. Very emotive and realistic so far.Ā
I see most of you are getting out into the garden - the days are getting longer. Ā Hope you get your washing dry @Pat E
Ā Thank you for the book suggestions - I'm always on the lookout for a good read!
My lovely friend came from Montpellier this weekend and despite the strong wind, managed to get a trailer load of horse manure, which was flaky and dry. Ā Half of it blew away off the shovels but we got it home and put the trailer into the garage!! Ā I managed to spread nearly half of it onto Ā my vegetable garden yesterday afternoon when the wind dropped. Ā I weed sprayed this morning as the wind had dropped and did another couple of trailer loads onto the garden.
Thanks for the book suggestions, @punkdoc! Iāve downloaded two and reserved a third, so something to look forward to! After the trauma of Demon Copperhead, Iām having a little light relief by rereading a Jack Reacher from my collection!Ā Ive not yet tackled Wolf Hall and itās successors, but I used to see Hilary Mantel shopping in our local Waitrose.Ā Its been a dull and boring day here. Too horrid to garden, and I had a tummy upset, so didnāt fancy going out anyway.Ā At least I had something to read, and I done four loads of laundry. Maybe brighter tomorrow, there is another weather warning but those often donāt come to fruition.
