I've managed to read back a bit, so sad to hear your bad news @Red maple, not a good start to the year.
Hope your pain does start to ease soon @punkdoc, very hard for you I'm sure, time just drags so badly when one is suffering.
17 of us for dinner this evening, I've done a ginormous pot of curry. It's family from the UK visiting my friend, I thought I'd give her a break, she's been hosting them since Saturday. They're all lovely and I do love to have a houseful. Just about managed to get 17 chairs around the two dining tables pushed together. Very cosy.
Right, I need to check the curry, have a good evening all.

Have a good evening @D0rdogne_Damsel. Kind of you to cook for them, I'm sure it will all be delicious.
I'm sorry you are in so much pain @tui34. At least it shouldn't be too long before you see the surgeon.
I went to the SM and stocked up. I wanted to take the summer duvet to the cleaners at the SM but they have closed down. They had a good value duvet cleaning service. There was a notice on the window to say a vaping shop will open soon. How awful, bother it.
I've finished oiling the stairs. They now have a soft sheen. It's non slip and feeds the wood, so it says on the tin.
I've watched the Christmas Strictly Come Dancing. I really want to get on with the garden but it's always raining.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sorry to hear that you are still suffering so badly @punkdoc, it soes sound a little extreme compared with your first hip. Not that I know anything about these operations but could it be possible that some tendons, ligaments etc have not settled back into their allotted positions and have got a little knotted up somehow? If there is no improvement by Thursday I think you should make a call back to your surgeon. But hoping that tomorrow brings you some relief from the pain,

Relieved to say my daughter has arrived safely after a long very wet and windy journey.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Been a bit hectic here so not much time to post.
