Good morning all. Home safe and sound. It took almost an hour for our luggage to get to the belt, soi didn't get home until 4.15am. No sign of the storm yet. 8C indoors. I hope the heating team turn up tomorrow as promised.
Morning everybody, Much warmer this morning, up to 10c so might pop up after coffee to the GC, got an idea for a new garden project so want to see if I can bag one of their sale offers. Just checked our weather forecast and it looks worse for this afternoon so I'd better get out soon. Welcome back @Hostafan1. Enjoy your walk @Punkdoc. Have a good day everyone and stay safe.
I hope that you Dad is OK after his fall @AuntyRach
Stay safe if you go the the garden centre @Lizzie27
@coccinella I take 2 tablets every day containing calcium (plus magnesium, zinc & Vitamin D) . I don't think I have had any problems so far with them (mine are from a well-known high street UK-based supplements retailer). Sorry I'm not able to be of more help. My very best regards to you anyway.
Hopefully your Daughter has been able to get the rear window of her car repaired @AnnaB It is a cold and wet time for that misfortune to happen. Best wishes to you all anyway.
My pelvic floor has been playing up again. The immediate cause was trying some of that new pasta which is made from yellow peas (which seems nice by the way). This pelvic floor issue is a very long-standing problem (the first damage occurred perhaps 25 years ago). I saw my GP (now sadly retired) about it years ago, and he said it would be better to avoid surgery if at all possible. I have already had to give up eating my beloved porridge oats due to this. I suppose either it will settle down or it won't. C'est la vie.
I hope everyone came through the snow safely, and I hope everyone will be OK during the coming storm. The electricity was off here yesterday, but I had taken my Mother to the nursing home at the time, so it didn't really matter. We will be very lucky to avoid a further power cut this evening I suspect. Winds are slowly but steadily increasing, and seem to be directly onshore so far. Stay safe out there folks.

Glad you didn't have to wait too long yesterday @Dovefromabove. I think something is telling you to rest more @Allotment Boy. Very gratifying news on your ex NDN @punkdoc - hope you've managed a bit of a walk today. But this is the best time of year to be healing after your op - you'll be really good to go when you really want to in the warmer months. Glad you got to watch your Billy Connolly @Pat E. Enjoy your son's visit. Remember - you did get to keep Pixel! Fingers crossed for no powercut for you @Badly_Maintained - and that you can get some heat into your house soon too @Hostafan1 so you can cope with being back home in the cold after your lovely break!
Just read a letter to 'Ask Philippa' in the Observer. Poor woman of 65 is worrying about looking older and spending a fortune on creams etc. The advice was to stop listening to misogynistic work colleagues and to her inner voice telling her she is old and fat. I think those of us over the age of 27 on here would agree with that.
I agree with that @didyw, but I can't help wishing I was slimmer. I use a face cream because it feels nice but it isn't expensive. Now that I'm over 27 I don't mind having some wrinkles and some grey hairs, though most of my hair is still fairly brown.

She's the best agony aunt ever @Dovefromabove! Most of my hair is still brown too @Busy-Lizzie - but it is fine and thin. Inherited from my Dad who never went grey.
Agree very much with the comments on Philippa Perry, I bought copies of her last book for my daughter and for myself, she is a very wise and kind woman indeed. Sorry to hear that that you are having troubles with your pelvic floor, @Badly_Maintained. Quite a few on here, including me, can sympathise with that! How long ago did you see a doctor about it? Your condition may have got worse, so that surgery may now result in a big improvement, and worth having done. And treatments are still improving. I'm just in from two hours in the garden. I’ve been chopping down some naughty rhododendrons, plus some general cutting back. All shredded, and one green bin nearly full. Very satisfying. Just having a sit down before starting on prep for a late lunch. Take care in the storm, everyone. I see the Dublin to Exeter plane was cancelled this morning, because of bad weather at Dublin airport. Stay safe.
Further to the above, I would add that my understanding is that surgery in that area have moved on considerably in recent years … I know someone whis life has been improved immeasurably by a surgical procedure for pelvic floor issues.

still very cold but not like yesterday. From tomorrow the temps will climb up and we are expected to get to 12 degrees early next week. 🤷♀️
No storm expected here, we'll see. We binged on recorded Winter Watch, lovely TV watching for us.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. Take care.
