Yes, I think I must, which is a real shame, because assuming you have had competent surgery, good physio is the major determinant of how well you recover [ plus of course your own motivation ]
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
very windy here, but no damage except my next door's sun umbrella has been blow away, I think it is broken now. I did manage half an hour of cutting away some perennials but that was it. I have been busy today with other stuff including problems with my email. Help desk said that they have changed some parameters, ports and stuff but forgot to tell. I can receive but cannot send and it was annoying as I was communicating with the hospital this morning. Anyway small stuff. Hopefully will get sorted soon, OH is on the case and he is much better than me technically, at least he understands what they are saying.
Good news is that we have received permission to go ahead with our drive at 3 % VAT (houses older than 30 can have their VAT reduced for improvements).
Big birthday week then, most of ours happen in June/July and October.
@Badly_Maintained three mini grapefruits you can have for breakfast tomorrow. 😊 @punkdoc mustn't feel guilty. Not your fault.
Morning everyone, not a bad start but same here cloudy now. We went to a recording of the Martin Lewis money programme last eve. We only just got in as they gave priority to people who had questions to ask, even though we were there early. We were surprised at how small the audience is overall only around 25 people. Not much was relevant to us as it was all about mortgages and renting, but interesting to be part of anyway.
OH'S daughter took this pic off the TV , wife on blue chair me on yellow, lovely shot of our backs 🤣
My Son 1's birthday is on Sunday, same day as @Dovefromabove.
It was windy here in the night, twigs all over the ground but no damage that I can see.
We've been out for the day. Started off by looking for a nice, but not expensive, small wardrobe for the grandchildren's bedroom. Looked up various places, mostly antique and 2nd hand. Found what we were looking for in the 2nd place we went to in Wymondham. Simple, pine, perfect size for the gap. It will be delivered on Friday.
Next we went to Waitrose as there is one there and it's further than we usually go. Got some tasty bits and pieces.
Then we went to our favourite very old pub for lunch only to find it had new owners and won't be doing lunch until 8th Feb. They said to go to the owners' other pub a short walk away as they were doing lunches, so we did. We had a fish sharing platter with a side salad. It was very good, fish pieces in batter, scampi, whitebait, smoked salmon, squid in breadcrumbs, a big helping, only £15 for the two of us. Then Eton Mess for pud which we shared, it was huge.
Tonight we are going to the pub quiz with our friends down the road.

Not a lot planned here … unusually for us we’re not having haggis for Burns Night … we had a couple of meals of haggis over New Year but I forgot to get one this week … 🙄 we’re having Italian meatballs instead .., mini haggises? 😂
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
sounds you had a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie. How did you do at the quiz? Wow @Allotment Boy on the telly! Update on the calcium: Since I stopped taking it I have been fine in the waterworks department. Doctor has given me another brand to try and an abdominal scan which will take place mid March as deemed non urgent which is true. It is dry and clear today, so I will probably do a little more pottering in the garden. We are having a veggie curry, already chopped all the veg and will cook soon with Patak sauce I am afraid. Enjoy your Italian haggies @Dovefromabove. Be safe all.
Morning all, just catching up with everything that has been going on. Congratulations to the @WonkyWomble family. Best wishes to all the birthday peeps this week. You all seem to have survived the storms relatively unscathed I see. I should have been going for an appointment near Toulouse today for my nose, but had to cancel as the farmers are blocking the motorways all round about, so now have to wait until March for another RDV. It's a beautiful very warm day today so I shall get in the garden and start some clearing and pruning instead. Have a good day everyone and mind how you go!
@floralies is there no way of getting to the hospital by other roads? Made me wonder what would happen to people going in for emergencies or cancer treatments. I sympathuse with the farmers but it sounds as though they are going too far.
We didn't do very well on the pub quiz, 6th. Not our sort of quiz, so much TV, pop music and sport. A page of 20 cryptic questions on TV programmes, a lot of soaps included, most of which we don't watch. 10 questions on pop, I only knew 2, but our team mates knew 7 including my 2. Some teams knew them all. No classical music, biology, botany, cookery, hardly any history or geography. Oh dear, I'm rambling!

@Busy-Lizzie we decided that it would take too long on other routes as that is what everyone else would be doing as well, especially the lorries and those wanting to get to the airport, the A64 is completely blocked and it is the same in other areas now, it's a good job you are over there and not here!!
