Just catching up with everybody.  Congratulations to @Dovefromabove & @WonkyWomble.  Happy birthday to those with birthdays - and enjoy your big birthday bash @D0rdogne_Damsel.
I got my steps in yesterday.  No car at the moment (SIL has borrowed it) so we walked into town to meet friends for lunch then do some food shopping.  Got back - OH couldn't find the door key!  And I didn't have mine as I had hung my keys up inside, not having the car.  I rang round a couple of places we had been and the key had been found in the pub where we had lunch.  So off I trotted back into town to pick it up. Quicker than OH who walks slowly and has to stop every so often because of his COPD and heart problems.
OH later managed to knock a bowl of stewed rhubarb out of the fridge and onto our stone floor.  Not his day!

    Afternoon everyone.

Been a bit pre-occupied as Dad not been great the last few weeks but doing better today.

Going to have a chill this afternoon - I’m into those logic problems grid puzzles so will tackle of few of those before making a chicken stew for tonight.

Take care all and don’t forget to share any Birthday (or any other) cake the next few days!

    Good afternoon folks.

I am sorry to hear that your Dad hasn't been doing so well @AuntyRach Hopefully, after today his progress will continue.

I was glad to read that there hasn't been too much damage for posters on here after the two violent storms you had.    Good news about VAT on your driveway @coccinella

A spendiferous day with the mercury hitting 22°C and not a breeze!!  Needless to say, once again the conservatory doors have been flung open and the heating is off!  I have swept the path but my knees are quite painful today which, according to my physio, comes with tearing ligaments and suchlike.  As the major pain subsides, other stuff becomes apparent.

So, still reading, crosswords and series.  I feel so old and decrepit!

I hope you all enjoy Burns Night and mark the moment with some haggis and a wee dram!!

Afternoon all, so sorry to hear your Dad's not been too good @AuntyRach, hope he feels better soon. Chicken stew sounds good, we're making a valiant attempt to eat up all the left over turkey that I froze after Xmas, but getting fed up with it now and might just chuck the remainder, there's not a lot left.

I potted up my new Olearia into it's new blue pot and stood it into position where I can admire it from our bedroom window. It was quite mild with no wind for a welcome change.

@Tui34, I was told muscles/ligaments/tendons take up to a month to heal unfortunately when I had a fall last July - and they were right. They recommended rest and painkillers.

That was a sterling effort @didyw. We've had one of those outside key safes installed for emergency use/loss of keys etc. Haven't had to use it yet, in fact I ought to check it out.

We've decided to get our over large, really horribly spikey berberis hedge cut in the back garden as OH is longer able to cope with a stepladder and dodgy hip so I've got to get some quotes in quick. It's going to be expensive.....

    Have a good evening folks.

Sorry to hear of your worries, @AuntyRach. Glad you can get some distraction with the grid puzzles, I use puzzlebaron when I wake up in the night. I also enjoy doing train track puzzles, and have found a website for those too.
Very mild today, but had a day at home to allow OH’s ankle to continue recovering.
We are meeting friends for breakfast in the morning, so I’ll wish you a Happy Birthday now, @Dovefromabove
Hope I didn’t offend you, @punkdoc, with the remark about the physiotherapy? I was more upset that my friend had been left for four months with no one checking that she was progressing as she should have. She will have an X-ray one year post op and that’s it.
No Burns night celebrations for us, although any excuse will do for a wee dram. I’ll pour myself a little glass as a nightcap.

Not offended at all @Ergates, just annoyed that care is so variable.

    Morning Forkers

    grey and wet, what's new?

I hope your dad keeps getting better @AuntyRach and that you managed to relax a little yesterday.
Yesterday was a busy day for you @didyw. Shame about the rhubarb, better than damage to one's body though. Hope you have a calmer day today.
No haggis nor wee drum for us @tui34 but enjoyed a music programme on Beeb4 last night with some of my favourite singers like Karen Matheson and Eddie Reader. Hope you will feel better very soon.
@D0rdogne_Damsel that is a lovely bouquet. Have a great time with your friends as am sure you will.

I finally spent my voucher: I am going to cover a small area attached to the house at the front that  gets little rain. There's a tangled mass of periwinkles that flower rarely, often covered in powdery mildew. They spill on to the path leading to the house and it is annoying so I got sempervivum in its place I will improve the soil with new compost and lots of grit.

Off to aquagym, being friday. Take care all!

    Morning all.

Is he French or English @D0rdogne_Damsel? I hope your date goes well.

The wardrobe should be delivered for the grandchildrens' bedroom today. I will have a bit of a clearout of our bedroom wardrobe as it's getting overcrowded. The new one isn't really for guests, it's extra space for us.

Also, it looks as though it will be a nice day so I should be able to do some gardening.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
I’ve been struggling with Wordle and watching the sunrise and the moon go down over the sea at Cromer 😎
It’s still pretty windy here …
Happy birthday to @Allotment Boy  🎂
and to you too @D0rdogne_Damsel … have I missed the actual day?🫢 Lovely  flowers 😊
