Good morning all 😊 ☕️ But windy out there! But 10C which feels almost balmy 🏝 Sunday is the big day here @Allotment Boy 😉 … I’ll say happy birthday for Friday in case life gets in the way … as sometimes happens here … 🙄

It's a busy time of year for birthdays.... And now our family has a new one to add to the calendar... When we know her name that is! And a happy birthday to @D0rdogne_Damsel for the weekend too! Hope your have a great party!
Still very gusty here but dry and not freezing so it could be worse!! Stay safe out there folks!
Morning all, a balmy 10c today, did see a little bit of sunshine earlier on our usual walk but clouded over now. Hoping it's not going to drizzle as I want to do some gardening. I'll say Happy Birthday now to all those with birthdays in the coming days, just in case I forget, as Dove says, life gets in the way sometimes. Most of our family birthdays are either during March and April (tax relief for those who remember!) or July.
Hope @wild edges garden didn't suffer any damage - or anybody else's for that matter.
I hope everyone has survived / is surviving the storm.
I bring two pieces of surprisingly good news: firstly Storm Jocelyn (which showed up at 4 pm yesterday, and left us at 9am this morning) did not cause any power cuts in this village.
Secondly, many years ago my Father (who is not a gardener in any sense) planted a grapefruit seed (from a grapefruit) in front of his house. Remarkably, it grew and has now reached well over 2 metres tall. The surprising thing is that the storm has dislodged what appear to be 3 very small grapefruits. They are nothing like the size which a grapefruit should be, but - considering they were produced outdoors in this cold, grey climate - I do think it is of note. Photographic proof (with a pencil to provide scale) -
Best wishes to all, as always.

Hello everyone! Congratulations are in order for gran @WonkyWomble and GG @Dovefromabove How lovely to have an addition to the family!
We are having the mild weather too. In fact, not a cloud in the blue sky and a high of 19°C this arvo! Breezy. I hope @wild edges is ok.
The grapefruit look good for a pot of marmalade @Badly_Maintained Funny what nature throws back at you. I have an artichoke plant coming away - it got sunstroke during the summer and "died". Mind you, it's only a thistle so hard to get rid of!!
Resting still and although walking unaided around the house, I still feel as if I have been doing about 100 squats. The tops of my legs are really stiff. Shame as it is a perfect day for pottering around in the garden with secateurs!!
To all of you who are clearing up after the storms - courage and patience. Have an enjoyable day.
You must be getting preferential treatment, @punkdoc, if you got to see a physio post op! A friend had her hip replaced in September, and didn’t see a physio until this month, and that was for her final check, when she assumed she would be seeing the surgeon! All quiet here, house and garden ok, but I can hear the buzz of chain saws and shredders, so not everyone escaped so lightly. Very windy last night, and kept me awake for a couple of hours.

Maybe not the best morning to go for my walk, was nearly blown off my feet several times, but did manage.
