The frost has melted and the wind is whipping up.

I'm glad no bones are broken and the prosthesis is in place @tui34. I hope the pain goes.

    Good morning all
It's going to be a long day. We don't land in Bristol until 1am tomorrow morning, then a two hour drive home.
I'm not looking forward to a freezing cold house and no hot water .
By the time I get home, I'll have been awake for 21 hours. I never sleep on the plane.

I think this one has had enough water.
The photo doesn't show, it's under 2 inches of water

Occasional doses of Schadenfreude çan sometimes he just what the doctor ordered @punkdoc. I hope ex NDN’s (step?)son is ok tho. 🤞

@Hostafan1 … have you seen the weather forecast for tonight?!  If I were you I’d be prepared to head for a Premier Inn or Travelodge or similar when you land … there may well be a lot of trees down in the south and west tonight.

Good afternoon everyone,  well the temperature has risen here as predicted but the frost line on the lower 1/3 of the garden was still very evident this morning.  I  haven't been outside today.  I've really messed up!  My arm was improved but lifting manhole covers clearing drains on Wednesday and pruning plants etc yesterday has set me back. Really bad night as every time I  rolled over pain in my arm woke me. I've been trying the alternate cold hot pads this am it helps a bit but has worn off now.  Back on the ibuprofen tonight methinks.

I did get to the SM and back with my Saturday choc croissants. Thanks @tui34 😋 your physio was right. Glad nothing broken.
@Allotment Boy amazed at you being outside pruning 😯 in this weather hope you get better soon.
@Hostafan1 my neighbour has one agave twice the size as the one in the photo in a pot. This year he has left it out (here in 🇱🇺 !) A miracle if it survives.
    Good to see you @punkdoc.

    Stay safe all.

    Afternoon everyone.

Temperatures up to 7 today, but I’m not feeling exactly warm.

Sorted Dad out with a Zimmer frame today (£5 ‘nearly new’ compared with £50 or waiting 4 weeks) and that will help him hugely. We forgot to think that he can’t carry drinks round now if using that so we have attached a small rucksack so he can put a bottle of drink or flask in). Hopefully the frailty team will come up with more ideas.

    Saturday chocolate croissants = yum.
Good bit of gossip/intel from punckdoc.
Hotel might be a good idea Hosta.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Please keep an eye on forecasts and take care in stormy weather.

Evening all, we've had a very nice pub lunch out with friends today and enjoyed the company. I wore a very thick Fair Isle sweater I'd forgotten about with a long sleeved T shirt underneath as the pub is very big and quite draughty. Of course this time it was toasty warm so I sweltered! When we got home, I rushed out and removed all the bubble wrap round the pots in case it all gets blown away later tonight. Gusts of 42mph are forecast in the early hours so I don't envy @Hostafan1's landing at Bristol? tonight.
As Dove says, Plan B should be a Premier or Travelodge if necessary.

Glad the consultant confirmed nothing broken @Tui34, must be a big relief. One of our friends told us that she had fallen on her front doorstep back last September and broken her hip at 9.30 am and was only rescued by the log man and his mate at 10.30 am. They climbed over the locked gate and phoned for an ambulance - which then didn't arrive for 12 hours, by which time she was very cold, wet and in great pain. A kindly neighbour had rushed round with blankets and hot water bottles but what an awful experience.

Sorry to hear your arm is again painful @Allotment Boy. I found Voltoral very good when I had similar pain.

I bet you chuckled when you heard that gossip @punkdoc. Hopefully once the weather improves a bit, you'll feel more like going outside.

As Allotment Boy said what goes around comes around @punkdoc, certain satisfaction in that I feel. Hopefully after this storm passes you will be able to get out and stroll about a bit more.
Good to hear that those suffering all sorts of aches and pains seem to be recovering somewhat, especial good news for @tui34 on hearing that nothing is broken.
Hope you have a safe landing @Hostafan1, but I agree with others about taking a B&B somewhere before that long drive home to a freezing house. Did your heat source air pump thingy never get installed?
We have storm Isha's worst winds forecast for tomorrow night, but it is already windy here - hate strong/gale force winds.
