Goodness @coccinella - that sounds truly treacherous. I remember once, years ago in a particularly bad spell making it to the local shop for provisions. A lady in there was saying that the pavements outside were like ice! They were actual ice!
Sounds like you and @WonkyWomble are well togged up. My SIL favours a heavy duty boiler suit over under things and under outer things for his work outside.
Afternoon all, dry and very cold here but doesn't appear to be icy, at least it wasn't at 10.30 this am when we had our usual walk. Went to pick up my meds but some still to be delivered so I've to try again on Friday. Right shoulder complaining a bit so I was lucky to get an appointment for a massage just after lunch. It feels much better now.
Hope @Busy-Lizzie is well on her way home by now, also @D0rdogne_Damsel and anybody else travelling. Bit of a shock to go from 22c to -2c!
No point in being in pain @tui34 to my mind - just pop the pills is my mantra. Hope you feel better soon. Are they sure you didn't crack your pelvis like my brother did when he fell? Said it was a tiny bone in the groin, often done.
That does look idyllic though @Hostafan1 but no good if you're looking for some company.
Hi again all flowing freely again I can now rod from just by kitchen right underneath the old garage out to front, and from there to boundary of front garden. My arm is protesting though. @tui34 I was thinking the same as Lizze27. You know your own body best but sometimes it's better to take the anti inflamatories, helps you recover quicker. My wife very rarely tales anything, she has a bad reaction to paracetamol, but a while ago while still working, she slipped and hurt her thigh. One of the Medics at work noticed her walking badly and asked what she was taking to help. After her saying nothing the Doc explained that taking a short course, (no more than 3days) would help her heal faster and more fully, she relented and admitted she should have taken them sooner.
I didn't fall @Lizzie27 and @Allotment Boy I was dressed and standing on the bath mat in front of the mirror. Then I reached behind me to throw a cotton bud into the rubbish bin and stuck out my left leg. Some water!!! And my leg slipped south west!! According to the physio I have most likely overstretched and maybe even ripped the adductor which runs inside the thigh. Only thing to do is rest. I put a hottie on it as does the physio and it relieves it. Today being dampish is not a good day for arthritic joints etc.
I will post the results of x-rays on Friday evening.
Occasionally I use diclofenac patches, at least it doesn't pass through the stomach. But you know your body @tui34. Here's hoping there's nothing wrong with your thigh.
I just learnt about that poor little boy. What a horrible, horrible world.

Nasty shock @Allotment Boy!

Right … I’m in the car park ready for choir … I hope the heating is on 🥶
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Enjoy the choir practice @Dovefromabove.
