    Morning all.

I glad that you managed to sleep a bit @punkdoc. I hope it will be for a bit longer tonight.

@D0rdogne_Damsel you are a bit further north than me. It was 15C here outside. I lit the woodburning oven in the breakfast room and had the radiator on in the sitting room. You must be hardier than me!

I'm rather achey today, had to take a painkiller in the night. It should be a nice afternoon for gardening but maybe I overdid it yesterday. Spent 2 1/2 hours weeding and pruning tatty plants on my knees and pushing a heavy barrowload of mulch.

I had my 6th Covid jab yesterday afternoon, arm aches a bit.

Morning all, finally a dry start to the day. Went out for a mooch around the terrace and found the roof of my greenhouse has been damaged…. Not blaming anyone but looks like one of the cats may have leapt from the balcony above onto it. I’m assuming it was that, not wind as the corrugated roof has caved inwards rather than outwards…. I’ll need to get something done quich as temperatures are due to drop below freezing here over the weekend. Ā Terrace is a mess. So much rain and wind, everything is blown around and full of water, not exactly giving me motivation to go out and deal with it.Ā

Something odd has been going on in the garden … the bowl part of the bird bath has been tipped off its column base … it’s a low one, only about 18ā€ atĀ the most from the ground so a fox or deer wouldn’t need to jump against it to drink … the few cats around here wouldn’t be heavy enough to tip it … OH suggests that it was two fat canoodling woodpigeons … we get quite a few Ā around here … Ā spring is definitely springing …

Despite their apparent size, owls weigh very little … none of our native owls could tip that bowl

Sorry to hear the sad news about your SIL @Red maple.

Well done for putting on a brave face over Christmas @tui34.Ā  I prescribe lots of taking it easy now.

Hoping things continue on an upward trajectory @punkdoc.

We didn't venture out at all during the storm.Ā  The fields opposite us are all flooded again.Ā  It looks beautiful but it will be a while before the cows can come out of their sheds.

Much ado locally - a post on Facebook said that one of the two Boots we have in town is to close in March - the one attached to the doctors' surgery.Ā  The one that is to remain open is in the centre of town and there is no parking there.Ā  How are people to get their meds etc. etc. A gentleman we know - who now has the beginnings of Parkinsons - called me to find out more about it (as if I would know!).Ā  I feel so sorry for poor Michael - he is the sole carer for his housebound wife and lives on the edge of town, up a hill. But he wasn't phoning for himself - he can walk but his elderly neighbour can't and relies on driving the half mile or so to the surgery to pick up his meds.

I have emailed our local district councillors - some joined up thinking needs to happen here to find a way people can collect their meds (which are so often not ready - come back in an hour) without trying to park outside the Boots in town and getting parking tickets.

A brighter day today - hope all who are itching to get into their gardens can do so.
