cold and grey today. Went to aquagym this morning, it does me good. Keep the pains at bay and gets me out of the house, an easy bus ride. Gardening is still a dream, it will be ages before I can get out to do something. Enjoy Spain @D0rdogne_Damsel Wishing @AuntyRach a well served break, hope you go back to work feeling strong for the tough week ahead. Well done @Lizzie27 for beating the computer! We haven't got to that yet here but have been using IDs at the hospital for years, no ID no X-ray, scan or whatever, it started about ten years ago. Won't you miss your meetings at the gardening club if you stop going altogether? If the talk is boring you can always look at the phone and say "oops something has come up, must dash!" 😅
Have a nice evening all, mine is going to be fish n chips.
I'm still undecided @coccinella. and @Busy-Lizzie It's a big club with 60-70 members and we meet in the local large parish church so we all sit in pews for the talk. There is coffee/tea/biscuits provided for half an hour beforehand where we chat to the other members. Now I'm getting older, I dislike going out/driving in the dark especially in cold weather. We all turn our phones off during the talk. We've been members for over ten years so have heard most of the talks before. Fergus Garrett of Great Dixter was one of the best a few years ago. I can't say we know many members very well at all.
I bet that was a struggle and a half Busy-Lizzie with your old red rose. Not an easy task by all means. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I might try to move a metal decorative trellis panel underneath my climber Claire Austin, it's not quite in the right place. I need to move it forward so I can train the rose through it and perhaps horizontally criss-crossing the trellis. I find it's very lanky with thin pliable stems but with heavy incurved blooms that sometimes need supporting.
Same old, same old here, won’t bore you. Moira went to the funeral of my great friend and neighbour, the Judge today. The closing song was written as Globi Magni Ignis........ Great Balls of Fire, had them dancing in the aisles. Wish I had been able to go, the man had a brain the size of a planet, a wicked sense of humour, and loved his wine and a cigar, what’s not to love?
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hello everyone. Hubby and I were feeling off yesterday. I suspect some of the leftovers we ate from the fridge might have been a bit old 🤬. We tested ourselves for Covid but were negative. Never mind, feeling a bit better today and although it’s hot outside, so we’ve turned the air con on in desperation (just 20 degrees is enough. ). It’s rather muggy outside. Hubby’s gadget told him that there was a lightning strike 12 km to the south, so his laundry effort might be out longer than expected. 😏. Hope you’re all ok.
So sorry you missed your friend's funeral @punkdoc he sounds like a wonderful man, one of those rare ones where they state "they broke the mould when he was born".
Keep cool if you can @Pat E glad that you and hubby are feeling a bit better today.
Glad you are enjoying your well earned break @D0rdogne_Damsel, mind you don't burn yourself with all that lovely sunshine.
@Pat E … I quite enjoy a storm (as long as I’m safely indoors) but I’ve a feeling some of yours might be a bit more dramatic than the ones we get here. ⛈ Glad you’d got the washing in 👍
Your friend sounds like very good company @punkdoc … he’ll be much missed .., what good memories of time spent together you must have 🤗

Big frost today.
I was quite achey in the night from wrestling with the rose yesterday.
This morning we'll take down the Christmas trees, small one in the kitchen, bigger one in the sitting room.
I hope it will be warmer this afternoon as I would like to dig the hole big enough to plant the cardboard box and the new rose in it.
