    Glad all is well @coccinella

Sorry to hear about your traumatic night, @coccinella. Sounds good that they have picked up the parathyroid problem, and will get that looked at properly and sorted out for you. Daughter had to have an overactive parathyroid gland removed, caused her a lot of weird symptoms before they identified it.

Good afternoon,  I have to agree,  much prefer cold and bright to grey and damp. Lots of plants benefit from a period of proper cold too.
We are just back from a little walk round the local park.  We don't go there too often as it's mainly used by dog walkers , they are supposed to keep them on a lead and the're not supposed to go in the old rose garden at all  but they all ignore that.
It was -4 here first thing I  couldn't help wondering how many layers poor @WonkyWomble has to have to  work in this?

Just popped in to warm up for lunch.... @Allotment Boy.... Woollen tights, long woollen socks, then ski socks, long John's, jeans, two long sleeved tops, Dove knitted vest top, woollen shirt, hoodie and a scarf and hat.... Coat doesn't stay on as you can't move! Fingerless gloves then gardening gloves...... Always said you get your money's worth with a gardeners striptease! 🤣 If only the house was warm enough to want to take it off!!!! 🥶
Compost turning today also had to move a decomposed log pile. 28 stag beetle grubs have been relocated to a rotting tree stump with many layers of cover of rotting wood and foliage. 😁👍
    Keep warm and safe everyone!

Crumbs that's quite a list. From my motorcycling days I  found a neck tube type scarf the best . I  did try some of the thermal gear from Da**art which was great on the bike but you couldn't keep it on indoors too hot. I do find a boiler suit over the top woks for me ,  and the warmest boots I've ever had are the Mu*k boot brand but they are very expensive now. Again jacket often comes off. Then I'm not out all day like you.

  • Afternoon all.
My very best wishes to @coccinella
    Safe journey to @Busy-Lizzie
I'm very impressed with your connections to the wonderful "Detectorists" @Dovefromabove
I'm just back from the hospital, having taken my Mother there for a scheduled chest x-ray to make sure the troubles she had a couple of weeks ago are now behind her.  Results should be known in around a week.
There is very sparse snow here above about 250 metres.  It did snow a little down here - perhaps 1cm on car roofs this morning, but it melted as soon as it hit the well-gritted roads.
Stay safe and warm out there folks.

-2C last night, didn’t get above 0 until nearly midday. Very sunny though, so we braved the drive to the seafront for a walk on the prom. Very slow through the nearby village, as expected the run off from the fields has frozen, and the patches shaded from the sun haven’t melted. Still, it was very pleasant by the sea, had a decent walk and a warm up with hot chocolate in one of the cafes. Left OH there reading, and had a wander round the sales. Nothing at all to tempt me! All this winters colours are all wrong for me. Very tiresome. I’d certainly do better in the charity shops, but I don’t actually need any more clothes, I’ve got plenty. At least I don’t have to wear them all at once like @WonkyWomble

I am tucked in bed. Too tired to even watch TV. thank you @AuntyRach, WW will be recorded and I will watch it tomorrow. I will have plenty of time, we have had a weather alert on our phones not to go out tomorrow if possible because of icy rain.

Thank you again for thinking of me. Sleep 😴 tight.
