I slept really well, made up for the night before.
I was expecting a frost this morning, forecast says it's below zero, but there isn't one. It is cold though. I emptied the ash buckets from the woodburners so I've been outside.
We'll be going to the main SM today, also to Lidl for wine to take back to England, some for friends.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
As did I @Busy-Lizzie Made up for the night before too. Marmalade looks yummy Light frost here and very cold but the wind has finally dropped and it is a beautiful sunny day. Hope you have the same @coccinella Be careful out there @AnnaB I hope you don't need to go outside.
JPR Williams when the British Lions toured NZ in 1971 (I think it was)!!! We were all in love with him and were rather jealous of a friend who worked at the hospital he visited in Auckland when she shared the lift with him. Sigh!! One of the rugby greats. RIP John.
I hope you got back to sleep @punkdoc I had a painful/wakeful night too. I have an appointment with my physio tomorrow. She may help a bit.
Enjoy your time away @D0rdogne_Damsel I hope Alicante is up to your expectations!!
Have a pleasant day everyone whatever the weather.
Light dusting of snow on the roofs here. Road looks clear though. Nearly 2C at the moment. Supposed to be going to a talk in the village this morning. Will be good to get out and do some socialising, but I don’t fancy heading out in the cold. Should force myself! Hip had a good night, but odd stomach pains instead. I shall ignore it for the moment, likely to go away.
Good morning, the Sun has just broken through now, so hopefully it will warm up a bit more indoors. Waiting for boiler service person, due anytime up to 1pm. We are using the mfcrs people this time as our usual chap has had some kind if accident and is off work till February. I had a bad night last night, tried not taking any ibuprofen , but only fitful sleep from around 4:30 onwards. Regards to all.
My Welsh cousins are roughly the same age and lived near to and grew up alongside JPR and knew him pretty well through their teens and twenties. He was a real hero to Aunty B.

Enjoy your trip @D0rdogne_Damsel. Love will come a knocking when you least expect it, I'm sure. Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep for some of you. I generally have at least one night a week when I can't sleep - especially if I have to be up early for something the next day. It's a PITA. I've got some minutes to write up from a meeting our In Bloom group had just before Christmas. I had forgotten all about it, so I'd better crack on with that. I'm so lucky - my OH does most of the ironing around here! I don't mind it, if I'm in the mood (which does happen occasionally!) but it does give me backache.
Morning all, we just had a light snow shower last night but no sign of frost this morning, although it was only 1.2 c when I woke up after a much better night's sleep. Trying to get to 2c now so still pretty cold and not looking forward to going out to do some errands. OH has gone into town for an opticians appointment.
Enjoy your holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel and the warmth. I'm not jealous, really!
Right, better get going. The electricians are coming this afternoon to replace all the smoke alarms so I must make sure I'm back in time.
