Morning everyone, only just woken up after an awful night's sleep. Need a cup of tea, but trying to come to before I go downstairs.Β Sorry too read your wife is ill @rowlandscastle444 do hope she gets better soon. And that your Dad had to go to A&E do hope the wait wasn't too long and he's not too poorly either. Sending best wishes. Β What a beautiful photo @Ante1 your cat is a lovely colour, very pretty. Sorry you had a bad night's sleep too,Β have a restful day. @Busy-Lizzie hope your OH has a good journey, have a lovely day together.Β Have a good day everyone, take care.
Morning everyone. Another bad sleeper here too last night. I was awake every hour.Miserable dark morning but no frost but very cold. Ante, you know I don't like high wind so have every sympathy for you , hope that storm has passed. Easy day for you too. SGL,I'm just hoping that as Spring approaches it will lift all our spirits and make us feel a little more cheerful. These long dark days and nights are miserable, aren't they? Keep warm today.
Been disposing of the festive tree. Big branches and trunk sawn up for firewood, medium sized branches in the garden waste bin ready for the one-off winter collection, tiny bits and needles used as mulch for all the acid-loving pot/planter dwellers.
Morning all. Cold this morning and there a couple of tiny clumps of snow still clinging to the garage roof - must have been a little flurry overnight.Β
Ante - I love your pets - they look very warm and snug. Your cat is particularly pretty - beautiful colour fur. Hope the storm soon passes and does no damage.
LB - can't remember whether D of DG did a little policeman's bob. Pretty sure he didn't when the programme ended in the 1976. Jack Warner was 81 by then - more than a couple of decades beyond police retirement age - and he was walking like his corns were really playing him up, let alone bobbing up and down!!π He did do a little salute though.Β
Think they're showing all surviving episodes. The series ran from 1955 to 1976 so it will be interesting to see how many of the early ones are available. I always thought the original film The Blue Lamp was far superior to the TV series.
Might try for an hour in the garden now but it won't be much more than basic tidying trying to fill the bin ready for collection on Tuesday.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Have been and collected wool that I ordered ( its a bit chunkier than I thoughtπ¬) Β and OH came out with stacks more cards and bits and pieces and a three tier trolley to put all his new stuff in. The study is now crowded out as he tries to find places for all his things. I have tried putting some stuff in the bottom of a wardrobe( which is used as an overflow for coats etc) but I have some old photos in there and other things from mums which are giving off an odour that I can't abide. Thus, Β I am having a clear out and declutter and the room Β now looks a mess. We are both also a bit annoyed as our two deliveries still haven't arrived , days late and they are wanted.Β We have to pop up to sons tomorrow as it's his birthday so if they come then, tough.Β Apologises, rant over. ππ
Just come in after quite a stint - longest this year Β Β
Bit late but I think I've got the last of the bulbs in the ground. Some didn't look viable (may have been from 2022!) but anything that comes up will be a bonus. Got the last of the cyclamen coum in and potted on an azalea and a pieris. All acid-lovers have been treated to a Xmas tree mulch and the garden waste bin is now full.
Now to put the front room back to normal (with the CA in its rightful place ) and get all the decorations in the loft before OH gets home from work. I may even be in the good books Β Β
Evening everyone. Had a very interesting day today but my it has been cold. Hazel, I would be fizzing if my deliveries hadn't arrived as promised. I think I recall you saying that these things were due the other day. I need to have a bit clear out too. I've made a start but I suspect that when you move pre loved clothes out of the wardrobes the remaining clothing just breathes a sigh of relief and relaxes in to the spaces you were hoping to obtain. Thwarted!!
Aah Biglad, get the priorities - and the CA - right and then you will be ready for the next work onslaught, which, by the way should have been finished last year! Fingers crossed you get some growth from some of the bulbs.
I was standing in my kitchen, chatting to handy brother on the phone and I glanced at my fridge freezer and spotted 3 C*******s fridge magnets 'waving' at me. They are now where they should be - in one of the kitchen drawers. Never mind all this 'stuff' about leaving them until the end of this year - not a chance!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I am going to be watching Vera tonight - love Brenda Blethyn. The Northeast accent reminds me of both my Grandmothers. Occasionally they would be so broad Geordie I hadn't a clue what they were on about. I'm signing out now and I'll see all you lovely lot tomorrow. I have decided that having this cold I am going to ring my Dental practice and cancel my appointment on Wednesday morning with the hygienist. I'll keep my cold to myself!

Clear, fine and crisp here.
