Ohhhhhh…. Just had first snowflake…. Bet that’s it though. I think it’s been years since we had a decent covering here.

    Evening all.

LB, I also stored today all my Christmas decorations in boxes and they are on attic till next time. House looks a bit empty without them.

It's very cold, but wind is not too strong and there is no snow. We shall see what will be tomorrow. School starts tomorrow, oh what a joy. I think I'll make cup of chamomile tea and go to bed.

Wish you all a goodnight and see you tomorrow.

  • Goodnight all. Wife found it leak of water under the kitchen sink this evening. Not the first problem with the new place, nor do I expect it to be the last.
I can see where the issue is, but there's no way my wife will permit me to even attempt to repair it. Thank goodness for that!!
Tomorrow, phone plumber. Tonight - SLEEP.

LB, I think you've done the right thing with your dental appointment. Who wants to open wide when you can hardly breathe through your nose, whilst needing to cough and splutter🤭😂 Get over your cold first. I can hardly wait til I go to mine🤪😱😂
Rowlandscastle,  hope you can get a plumber to see to the leak. How is your OH and father? I hope they are both doing better. Another great fan of Silent Witness here too.
Ante, think we've all got some horrible weather at the moment,it's not very nice. At least the winds aren't too bad now for you.  I can't wait until it gets warmer. All the best at school tomorrow(😖) , soon be home time👍
Hope @star gaze lily is doing alright. I know she was finding Christmas very hard so do hope things are improving a little. Sending plenty of hugs her way.
@Jacquimcmahon, ooh,  first snowflakes, how exciting! I do like snow but not for driving in. It's certainly cold enough here for snow but still no sign.
Will sign off for tonight folks. Keep warm.

A very good morning one and all.
@jacquimcmahon I'm like Hazel, love to see snowflakes and always wish for snow at this time of year, preferably to fall during the day and then disappear over night.

Good morning all. Fiancé starts new job today. Fingers crossed that it all goes well.
Visit to fiancés uncle yesterday not too bad but he seems terribly lonely I do wonder if a nursing home would be better. He has carers  going in but not many visitors it was rather upsetting to be honest. I have heard he was rather a bad egg when he was younger but it’s all very sad. On a brighter note it was a
Lovely drive to Bristol through sunshine and gorgeous countryside and I am seeing signs of Spring everywhere @Ante1 I know that Monday morning feeling very well hope your day goes smoothly

Good morning Debs. Here's hoping that this job for your fiancé proves to be the situation he feels happy in. There is little point staying in a job where mental health may suffer. Onwards and upwards eh? I am sure that his uncle is not the only person on his own at home and I do feel so sorry for people in that situation. Sounds like you just enjoyed the trip out - a chance for some quality time for you and your OH.

    Morning all.

OH is back with me. It was so good to see him again. There were no signs of spring as we drove back from Bergerac airport @debs64. It all looked very cold and grey and the trees, of course, were bare, but they did look pretty at one stage when the setting sun lit them up. Weird because it hadn't been sunny.

I think I ate too much and drank too much wine, then port with cheese, last night as I slept badly and had trouble getting to sleep. I've been trying to lose weight since Christmas.

My 2 daughters and one of my DILs are teachers, going back to school this morning. I expect they will be feeling the same as @Ante1
