That reminds me Dixon of Dock Green will be on Talking Pictures from next Saturday. Must remember to record it to see if it was as bad as I remember. D of DG and Dr Who were part of my childhood Saturday evenings along with the B & W Minstrels Show and Morecambe & Wise.Β
I too had an hour in the garden today. It was bitterly cold and the borders far too wet to walk on but I cut back some hellebore leaves and raked a load of leaves off the borders which had been hanging on to the trees until well into December. Exposed a nice couple of clumps of snowdrops. One even had a little white bud showing - spring is on the wayπ
Did get to the SM, but the roads were very messy and huge puddles everywhere. Many field flooded. Poor farmers trying to grow crops to feed us all.π’
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
@rowlandscastle444, sorry to hear that your OH isn't well. Hope she will soon be better. Very early start for you today.
I also didn't slept well. Storm arrived last night, and since then wind is quite strong. Very cold outside, but still no snow. Hope it will stay like this. Pets are all fed, they were very restless whole night (cats, not Max), and it's time for cup of tea.Β
@Topbird - am I right in remembering that Dixon used to do a little squat as he uttered those classic words or was that introduced by comedians parodying that opening shot? I cannot remember anything about the series apart from that, but in our village the police station, long since closed, has one of those beautiful (well to me anyway) lamps hanging up outside it with a blue enamelled 'Police' sign and that always takes me right back to Dixon of Dock Green. I used to look forward to the Morecambe and Wise C*******s shows, wondering what their special celebrity guest would be put through. Loved that!
Ante, I am sorry to hear about your storm. There is a severe frost here this morning - I have never seen so many white cars in the Crescent!

Good morning Rowlandcastle 444.How is your wife today ? Ante itβs good that the storm is quiet now . I hope you get time to rest .LB we have a severe frost here too .Was hoping to do a bit of gardening . I donβt think that will happen now.
Good morning Ruby and Busy. Ruby I do have to say that there will probably be no gardening here today either so yesterday's little bit of pruning has made me feel that, at least, I have made a tiny inroad into jobs needed.
Busy, I do hope that your OH's drive to the airport goes without incident and that you have a happy reunion today.

I hope your storm passes quickly. They are never good!!Β
Much colder this morning, but no frost - yet.
I loved Dixon of Dock Green. Policemen were kind in those days and made you feel safe.
OH is arriving today π I'm going to collect him from the airport this afternoon.
Busy, hope your OH will have safe flight.Β
The sun is shining thru the clouds, but it's still very cold. I'll take advice from those two from the photo and stay in.Β Β
