A very good morning LB and all to follow.

I wasn't around last few days because it was a busy time for me. Here is still, very warm and with rain, but tomorrow we will have a bite from real winter, snow and high wind. Today is bank holiday and everything is closed. I done SM shopping two day ago, and yesterday I was at cottage. Now is time for rest till Monday.

Hope you are all well and stay warm (I have inside information that it's bitterly cold up there😉).

  • Been out, stayed upright - but I might be able to get in the garden today, as wife is not well, so we won't be going to visit relatives.

Morning all. It's sunny but bitterly cold.
Could do to visit the SM but I'm not sure if the roads out of the village are passable yet. The flood waters usually go down quite quickly once the rain stops so might venture out in a couple of hours.
Feel so sorry for those people whose homes or businesses have been damaged.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all.
It's dry today and the skies are bright but getting colder....as forecast. I wonder if our deliveries will be made today? Either way OH has said he will pop to the Retail Park and pick up the wool I ordered and no doubt have a look around .It's from the famous hobby shop. He is always on the look out for craft things. I am, also, waiting on a call  to say the phone is ready to pick up.
Lily's TV is on and some other indoor jobs need doing.
Debs, is it this Monday your fiancée starts a new job? All the very best for him if he does, fingers crossed he will like this one.
Topbird, hope the waters subside quickly for  you and the village.

    Morning all.

    I slept well.

Cold and grey outside. Stove is lit. I must get in some more wood. Haven't lit sitting room wood burner yet.

Nothing planned for today. If it looks more inviting outside this afternoon I may do some more gardening.

Good afternoon all. I managed to get a good hours work done in the garden this morning. I pruned back my (very large) buddleia and chopped up all the pieces to get them into the green bin. I came indoors then to let my feet thaw out. Meanwhile I had a load in Lily's TV and as soon as that was finished I got the wet cloth things put onto the string. I'm not sure much will happen as there is no breeze but at least there will be some nice cold air around them. I then had to come in and hug a mug to thaw out my hands.
@rowlandscastle444 I too hope that your OH recovers well.
T'bird, my swamp is slightly improved on the other day so I do hope that you managed to get out to the SM.
Debs, baked camembert is a favourite of mine. I love the runny cheese with a fresh baguette.
Hazel, I trust that the phone is fixed to your satisfaction and I wonder what else - apart from the wool - your OH comes home with today. I must 'fess up to say that I really love browsing in craft shops. I could spend a fortune!
Busy, I hope that you managed to get into your garden. I must admit that despite the extreme cold, I was cheered being able to get into the fresh air. I did notice several 'excavations' in my borders and I'm hoping these are not made by rats. I have noticed squirrels around so possibly I will have a new crop of baby oak trees later this year.

Afternoon all. Received the call to go pick up my phone. It looks great now but unfortunately he only sold black phone cases. I've since ordered myself a purple one on-line. OH's phone has a black case so we'd get them mixed up and I prefer a nice brighter colour. I've spent an hour in the garden too today, it was lovely. The sun was out and it was so bright that I couldn't  help myself🤭 Got some soil turned over, pruned some really dead stuff, spread  some new topsoil on soil near to new veg patch and watered some plants in the greenhouse. The broad beans are romping away which is so nice to see. Never grown them before so Im rather chuffed.
OH hasn't gone to pick-up wool LB. There are two " important" footy matches on the TV which he wants to watch and , where the place is for the wool  will be heaving this afternoon. So we will pop out in the morning together and will pay a visit to that famous DIY store on the way home.
@rowlandscastle444, sorry to hear your OH is not too well. Hope she picks up soon.

I know that the Newcastle v Sunderland match was on Hazel. My Mum was a Magpies supporter. She would have been a happy bunny today! Purple - my favourite colour! You have been a busy bee in the garden.
