Oh gawd @Bigladπ±π¬, I certainly Β wouldn't be happy either nor touching it, that would be a job for my OHπ€’ Your job place sounds worse than ever. Can't a person get up in a morning before work starts hmm!? @star gaze lily, heard that news about Derek Garraway too. Very sad but he had been so desperately ill and for so long.Β We've waited and waited for our deliveries which haven't turned up yet so I popped out to the phone shop myself this morning. Had to leave phone there for glass repair and it should be ready for tomorrow. It has rained all morning, that constant drizzle stuff that soaks you through. Cleared up now and it looks a little brighter outside, not so dark.Β
It's been glorious here today - almost spring-like. I've ventured out for a few quick sorties but less than an hour all told. Can't stray too far from the electronic devices conveying messages of complaint, needless worry and imagined apocalypse Β Β
Good afternoon all. Had a nice meal with the Quizzers. Lots of catching up to do. SGL, I do not know who Kate Garraway is but I was very sorry to hear from you of her loss.
@Biglad, if you are across the pond the time difference may matter
Hazel, isn't it annoying when that 'waiting around' eats into your day?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB, it is certainly annoying waiting for something that is due and then it never turns up. I have managed to source some chunky wool I had used Β for a throw I made which my sister in law was admiring over Β Christmas. I've ordered some, on click and collect, so I will be able to start doing her throw now.Β
I heard about Derek Garraway on the lunchtime News. So sad, she had cared for him and given up work since he caught long Covid. LB, Kate was a journalist and TV broadcaster, used to work for ITV then GMTV.
The friend who was going to take OH to the National Express station is ill, other friend is away and the local taxi firms say they don't do Sunday mornings because they can't get the drivers. Several were Polish and, thanks to Brexit, they've gone back to Poland. So OH has decided to drive to the airport and leave his car in a car park there. Luckily they were doing special offer January prices. He'll only be here 10 days then we are driving back to Norfolk together. We'll pick up his car on the way back.
I tried doing some gardening today as the sun came out but I kept getting suddenly rained on. I gave up and had a long chat with Daughter 1 on the phone instead.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well done on getting your wool Hazel. I remember you saying that this would be your plan.
Thank you for explaining who Kate Garraway is Busy. I don't watch ITV so that is probably why I didn't know her. That is a bit awkward for your OH isn't it but I'm pleased he has got it all sorted. You will be looking forward to his arrival now.

A very good morning one and all. Very, very frosty here. This probably means that the roads with all their giant puddles of yesterday could be treacherous. Take care if you are having to go out for anything.
