    Morning all.
LB - you're correct on both counts. VC on OC is intensely irritating (we record the programme and FF through her silly intros and sign offs) and Amol Rajan really does rattle through the questions. A tad too fast really. MIL, for example, used to enjoy UC but is no longer able to keep up with the pace so she's stopped watching, which is a shame. I wonder if he might be asked to slow things down for the next series. I still miss Bamber Gasgoine on that programme.ย
    Hope the dentist goes OK.

Debs - your work sounds a bit hellish at the moment. Enjoy your rest days. Hope your OH is doing a bit better now.

Rubee - do try to rest and heal - a tumble down the stairs really shakes you up. Please give my best wishes to Rosie - I miss her.

It's raining here - which is a bit of a relief TBH. Means I can really crack on with some indoor tasks.
We've had a week of mild and dry weather and I've been trying to get outside whenever I'm at home and without appointments. Really have to get ahead with the garden this winter as we're away for nearly all of March which is usually the busiest month out there. A minimum of 30 minutes a day is the mantra. Managed nearly 4 hrs yesterday - not bad considering my natural instinct at this time of year is to go into hibernation mode!

Also awaiting the arrival of another addition to the family. Due last Sunday so any time now...ย

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all.ย
LB, hope your dental appointment has gone okay and is not too expensive. Im there next month too๐Ÿ˜•
Debs, work always gets busy at this time of year but with staff off ( hope your ย colleague gets better soon) it ย makes it ten times worse. Try not to overload yourself when you have time off.
SGL, @star gaze lily, I can well understand that you ย will be finding ย this time of year very difficult. Take each day as it comes.
OH has gone off to the local recycling tip to get rid of some garden rubbish we have. Our fortnightly council collections dont start up again until March. He's ย then off to sons to deposit Spikey128.

    Morning all.

How exciting @Topbird! Who is expecting?

Only Connect is a mystery to me too and Victoria is irritating so I haven't watched it for a while. Missed the Uni C but I can watch it when I go back to Norfolk. I find it hard to understand Amol Rajan when he asks the questions so I'm going off it.

The man was booked to come this morning to replace the double glazed dining room window, which has a big crack in it. He was an hour late. Then I looked at my emails to find one to say the the window was broken when loading it into the van and another would have to be ordered. Should arrive after the 8th January.

It's cold and grey here. Highest temperature today will be 4C. Think I'll go and buy a load of bags of compost for mulching.

Nad luck Busy with the window. What a shame. Hope the old window isn't letting in any cold air.
Topbird, I meant to say congratulations on the good news of a new baby. A Christmas baby would be lovely.
I really enjoy OC, even VC is so wacky she makes me smile. I gave up watching UC with the new presenter. He speaks so fast I cant hear the question , find him hard to listen to.ย
Anyone watching the new drama Vigil? ย Tough watching.

Good afternoon all. All OK at the Dentist although she wants me to have a below gum line clean by the hygienist. I had one of these when I was taken on by the practice in the village and I'm a bit sceptical as to why I need another one so soon. Until signing on here I have never ever had one of those before. I have this appointment booked for January 10th. I got my green bin full to bursting this afternoon as it is emptying day this week. The temperature seemed to really drop though as I finished my task so I was glad to get inside.
Hazel, I meant to say how nice it must be to have a video of 23 in the Nativity play. Something to hang on to and embarrass him later in life.
Busy, bit of a pain about the window but at least if it is only cracked it will still keep the warmth inside.
T'Bird, don't keep us in suspenders! We need more news about this expected addition! Very exciting.
    SGL, another hug for you:

I'm not using the dining room at the moment and only one layer of the glass is cracked, not the inside. I think it was a stone from the tractor mower. I got the quote from the glass place a while ago but they were busy, then we were in the UK.

A below gum line clean sounds uncomfortable. I've never had one and Son 2 is a dentist.

I've bought 7 bags of compost. Will need more, cheap stuff for mulching and lightening clay, and better stuff with manure in it for planting roses.
