Whole day was sunny and warm, and after haircut, I had a nice walk thru town and by the sea. All preparations are finished, and I only must bake mince pie tomorrow. Hope that we all will have peaceful Christmas.
Had a pleasant day. Made the mince pies ( which have gone down in number already) and had Lily's TV on for the last time until after Christmas now. Doing some knitting now and resting. Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
After a late night SM run on Friday night, I was planning to get everything else tonight but dropped off for a couple of hours. Saturday didn't go quite as planned! Lily's TV leaked last time it was on so I tried to investigate. Put a short cycle on and I shifted everything and dragged the worktop back a fraction. I could see a couple of damp patches forming on the floor behind. One was a steady drip from the cold water pipe connection. I foolishly tried to move the pipe to get a better view and it sheared off resulting in a torrent of water powering down Screamed at OH to turn off the water whilst I was sliding/scrabbling round trying to reach down and turn off the supply to Lily's TV. She got there first but it took me a couple of hours to mop up the results of my handiwork. Quick trip to Screwfix and the replacement pipe seems to be working fine so far. I could do with a handy brother @Ladybird4
Today is going to be busier than planned now. Best get a couple of hours shut eye before making the definitive list of what we're missing for Monday. Youngest arrives this afternoon with her OH, who is a pretty fussy eater. They'll decorate the tree, which has become a Christmas Eve tradition (that's assuming that I can find one today!! ).
I had an early night yesterday, so I'm already up. It's another calm and warm morning, perfect for Christmas Eve. I made pastry for my pies and it's in fridge for half an hour. Last GW winter special was very interesting, it's nice to see them all in the winter months. Now cup of tea then baking.
Oh my goodness @Biglad - what a nightmare for you! Thats the last thing you would want to happen on the edge of a big holiday season. I think you might drop lucky getting a tree as they were selling them off at greatly reduced prices near me.
Ante, I can just imagine the lovely mince pie smells coming from your kitchen. Yum!
