Morning all, blowing a gale here. Things are flying about and we have to pop into town to buy a new kettle. Ours has broken, Β these blasted machines choose their times for breaking down π«πΒ I haven't read back yet as slept in this morning. Catch you all later. Off to battle the wind.....
Good morning all, things to prep today ready for tomorrow, but not too much - thank goodness for freezers as I was able to prep some things earlier and freeze them, so they are out now defrosting. Your mince pies look tasty @Ante1 - I bet they wonβt last long π. I hope you all have a very enjoyable Xmas Eve, and donβt end the day feeling stressed. π
@biglad, what a disaster, a nightmare before Christmas and you were up very late. Well done though for Β getting it sorted put. We've got a new kettle so at least we can have a drink now. π Considering we were out early, the town was quite busy and the shops were heaving, jot surprising really but I couldn't leave food or gift shopping Β this late, I would be in a panic.Β OH is busy making his special stuffing for tomorrow.Ive peeled the veg and got the dinner table ready. Apart from cooking the turkey, which Ill do after dinner, and one other job, that is us done, thank the Lord. Busy, you will have a wonderful time with the little ones, have a very happy time with your family. Ante, we should swap mince pies, mine are closed in though, with a lid , but bet they both both taste fabulous.Β @star gaze lily, lovely card, thank you very much and mu best wishes to you and the family for over the festive time. Be thinking about you.Β We will be up and away to sons very early in the morning, so I would like to wish you all ( and those in the quiet corner,) a very Merry Christmas and my best wishes to you all.
Good afternoon all. Good grief Hazel, the last thing I'd want to happen is my kettle going bust - glad that you managed to get sorted with a new one. You all seem to be very well organised for tomorrow now. I am looking forward to my pub meal. Spikey 128 is looking very cheery. I smiled at 23's outrage the other day.
Biglad I am pleased to read that you got a tree. Hope your youngest gets it decorated to your satisfaction.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon all. You all sound to be very busy if a tad harrassed with things breaking at the most inopportune moments. Glad everything is sorted now.Β
Ante - your mince pies look delicious. I hope everyone enjoys them.
Don't know where the last few days have disappeared to but this morning was a bit more relaxing listening to the radio while peeling veg for tomorrow and infusing milk for the bread sauce. Just waiting for stuffing to defrost before I dress the chicken and I'm just about to make a fish pie for tonight - my favourite Christmas Eve treat.
My niece had her baby on Thursday afternoon (a little girl - gorgeous) so I do indeed have 3 birthdays to remember on the 21st! Mumma and bubba both doing very well indeed and some lovely family pics doing the rounds.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

and the same from Spikey Β 128 ....
Having a couple of minutes for a drink/rest before getting the tree in from the car and setting it up ready for youngest to arrive to decorate.
Time for a hot bath and a cold beer. Takeaway for tea and then into the kitchen in the morning.Β
