Good morning all. My last day at work today hope it’s not too busy. We were at a funeral yesterday, fiancés aunt, it was a sad occasion as I was extremely fond of her but went well with no arguments or bad behaviour, a relief as some of fiancés family can be difficult. We had to drive to Bristol via Telford so a long journey both ways we were both very tired and had an early night. Pleased its behind us now and we can focus on Christmas 🎄 @Rubee hope the medication helps, chronic pain must be exhausting. @Ladybird4 how lovely to have hares, and an orchard.
You all sound as if you are busy bunnies. Enjoy your Christmas Eve Eve.
Debs, sorry to hear that you and your fiancé yesterday had funeral. Now is all over and you can relax with him for Christmas. Hope that work today will be easy.
It's still dark, but calm and warm morning. I have my haircut appointment at 8am. My pets are fed, birds also, and I'm going to dress first, then will have cup of tea.
Sorry to hear your sad news Debs, losing someone at this time of year is always doubly poignant. How did your niece go on the other day? Like Ante, I hope you have a stress free day at work.
Hope that the haircut goes well Ante. That is a nice early appointment. I am one who really like gets to get everything done as early in the day as possible so that I have the rest of the day to do other interesting things. It is pouring down here - nothing new there then!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I'm going to friends for lunch today. Friend is the organiser of the rose group of the gardening club. She has a gorgeous old stone house with a beautiful garden that she started from scratch.
Then I'm going straight to Son 2's. Friend's house is nearer to Son than here. We are going to a Christmas Concert tonight in an old village church.
I'll pack the car this morning, lots of stuff to take, presents, food, wine, my Magimix and rolling pin and tartlet trays. Tomorrow I'm going to make sausage rolls, pizza tartlets and mince pies with the grand children.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We did have good news in that my niece won’t be in hospital over Christmas but my poor sister is so horribly stressed over the situation I don’t think it will be the Christmas she wanted.
@Ante1 you are a busy bunny as usual. I too am a “get up early” person I rarely do anything after my evening meal, definitely a lark not an owl 🦉
Good morning Busy. Have a safe journey and enjoy all the excitement.
Debs, that is good news about your niece but your poor sister will definitely need some tlc to cope over the festive season. I guess you might be on standby to offer comfort and support.

I haven’t been to the hairdresser for decades my OH cuts my hair when he is feeling well enough.LB enjoy your day . Unfortunately the darker the nights the longer I stay in bed . Good morning all, We have another blustery day here, but for the moment it remains dry. Rain is forecast for later. Well, I think all the prep is done - meat is collected, SM shop done, pressies wrapped & under the tree, so today should be a relatively quiet one 🤞🤞. I hope you all have a good day.
Morning all. Sun is trying to come out and although its windy, its quite mild. Have had a look in the greenhouse this morning and am delighted to say that two pots of broad beans have popped through the compost. I sowed these when I recently saw a bit of Beechwood and a chappie on there was planting his up, so thought Id give it a try. The bean that is 23's, in a separate pot, is growing away nicely now. Its baking morning for me, all the pots and pans and ingredient's are laid out ready to start so will see what they turn out like. At sons house, a naughty elf always appears at Christmas. This year he has a mother elf and a baby elf. They are always up to mischief overnight and just recently, ( after sons dog had chewed up baby elf), mother and father elf decided to pinch 23's cactus😂 The following morning 23 was 'distraught'/ indignant when he found cactus clutched between the two sets of arms of the elves .He kicked up a right fuss apparently saying why couldn't they have taken the dog! 😂😂....all good fun.
Good afternoon all. Had a pleasant visit with Jack this morning and he is quite well. He is lookimng forward to his Christmas meal with his daughter in the village. I told him I would call in for a drink after I get back from my brother's - once he is back of course.
I hope that everyone is all just about ready for the big day now and can grab a bit of a rest before the frenzy!
