Rubee, I will be keeping my fingers double crossed that the new medication for your OH works🤞🤞 I had a sudden inkling today to do some home baking, in particular, mince pies. I rarely bake now, it must be years since I last did so. So we nipped to the SM for some ingredients, which I was able to get thankfully. Needless to say, it was heaving😫 Everything is well washed and ready to start in the morning. Meanwhile, I am also looking for some really chunky wool that I have made a lovely thick throw with a while ago, and which my SIL was admiring when they came round. I said I would knit her one if she fancied and she said she would love one. I thought I might could make her one for her Christmas present for next year.
Good afternoon all. Well I've had a lovely day today. Saw my friend and he had arranged with his grown up son and daughter to lay on some delicious food for us. He has several new grafted heritage trees in the ever increasing orchard and he has them all with trunk guards. When I asked if it was rabbits that were the problem he said 'no', he is lucky enough to have a pair of resident hares! So jealous!
Hazel, you were right. Traffic was dreadful so I was glad to be home. Jack asked me to leave the visit until tomorrow morning - which suits me. An excellent idea for your SIL's next year pressie. Could it even be a birthday one?
Ruby I have everything crossed for you that the self medication works for your OH. It would be nice to think he has a more comfortable Christmas.
Busy, I am so pleased that you eventually got your roses. I am happy to say that the metal wreath hanger, to replace the broken plastic one, which I ordered from the big South American river site yesterday has just arrived and I have been able to re-hang the wreath. I am very pleased with it.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Rubee, I really hope that new medication will work for your OH. I wish him relaxed and painless Christmas.
It's finally Friday evening and I can relax for one week. I have my Christmas tea and watching good old movies online. This new, mass produced ones on tv are just boring. It was another beautiful and sunny day. I hanged one more light chain, and it will be all for this year. Tomorrow early I have haircut appointment, then I'll go to the market and must bake one more cake. I had two visits today and amount of biscuits is rather low. 😁
I dealt with the roses, actually spent a couple of hours outside this afternoon, haven't gardened for ages. It was very wet. I've planted 7 roses in the veg garden as their beds aren't ready yet. One is to climb up the rose arch and another is by the donkey paddock fence.
I'm glad you have been able to repair your wreath, LB, and that you are pleased with it.
OH has arrived at his daughter's in Eastbourne. He was expecting lots of traffic and allowed extra time but the journey was better than usual.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Bussy, I'm glad that your OH arrived safely to his daughter. I saw your trees and they are looking beautiful. I also spent some time in my garden, and repotted and divided amaryllis bulbs. Now I have eight decent size bulbs, and hope to see all them in flower very soon.
Just finished work in time for GW - the early KO nearly caught me napping!
It seems I've now got a weekend to go out and get Christmas . Then I get to cook and wash-up ad infinitum for a week before returning to the tedium of work. You've probably guessed, but I'm not a fan!
Yes - both apple trees are planted @star gaze lily Think I may have a way to go before I can compete with the orchard of your friend though @Ladybird4
