    The storm now seems to have left most of these islands.  Thankfully we really didn't have anything worse than a normal 'bad' Autumn day of strongish winds and p'ing down with rain for about 4 hours.  I am well aware that some experienced far, far worse.
  • Down here on the South coast it poured with rain last night, was windy today but I agree we're lucky that the storm veered further South but sorry that the Channel Isles caught the brunt.

    How are you doing @Kili ?

    I hope everyone is safe and warm and that any damage to house and home is superficial.

    @pansyface I <3  it.

    I my garden.

  • Very sad this morning to see some beautiful mature beeches crashed to the ground. We are without Internet access so have taken the dogs a walk where we can get a signal.
    The relief is we had no damage other than to plants, even cabbages are on their sides. And my greenhouse is intact, not even a leak. Phew.
  • Glad to hear you and yours are ok @NormandyLiz … sad about the beeches tho’. It reminds me of the damage we suffered in the ‘87 storm.

  • Sad to hear of all the damage to plants, trees and homes, but hope you're all safe.
    I think North Wales came off pretty lightly. The stream at the end of the garden is fast, but hasn't broken its banks, unlike  last week. The few pears we haven't picked, are still clinging grimly on. The cherry is looking spectacular in the sunlight, against a stormy sky.

    About to head for the caravan in the Clwydian hills. It really catches the worst of the weather up there.
    Beautiful North Wales - hiraeth
  • I agree @Penny_Forthem, we're in North Wales and it was wet and just a bit breezy.  Thankfully.

    Nothing much here,  just lots of rain,  much needed ready for the tourists next year.
    We heard nothing about the ‘87 storm down here.

    We got off lightly here.  The flood plains are flooded, but not as bad as in the previous storm.  More rain forecast for tomorrow though.  There is a 2-day craft fair this weekend - those just doing the Saturday are worried.  I'm booked in for the Sunday.

    Saw the horrendous footage on the news @Kili - hope that's the worst of it over for you now.
