Yes you’re right @Nollie cats do self regulate with their eating don’t they, I’m pretty sure my dogs would eat and eat until they exploded!!
I’m back home now though, there is one narrow lane left open to our village which we are all having to use so lots of reversing going on!

I had a panic in the middle of the night because my house insurance had lapsed and I'd forgotten to renew it. I was imagining the worst and I'm glad we just had the rain now. 124mph wind in France :o
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Just been out and about. Hair (what's left of it) somewhat 'interesting'!! 🤯

It seems that we've got away with it, unlike others.

Latest from the Gov.uk website on the flood alert in our area, our house is marked with the red cross . Fingers crossed the water level begins to subside 🫣

I have to say, that at 197ft above sea level (60m to some), I'm hoping to stay clear of flooding.

According to a report on the BBC News, the amber warning area on the South Coast has been reduced as the storm has tracked further south than predicted.

North Carmarthenshire - just been a standard autumnal stormy night. Not even any branches down this time. Looks like it passed further to the South than was expected doesn’t it?
Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

In North East Somerset, we've got off lightly. Heavy rain this morning going to and from the dentist but winds not especially awful. Garden looks okay from what I can see from the windows.

Just a typical autumn day here in Essex.
Heavy rain about 7am and a couple of light sowers since - and a bit breezy.

  • Due to my trying to be careful, we seem to have only lost a couple of chrysanthemum plants. Given that we intend to move house soon, I'm not concerned.
They'd have to be cut back anyhow. We seem to have got off lightly. Thankfully. 🙏
