  • @D0rdogne_Damsel :) We’re very fortunate that in Norwich we have a marvellous market in the centre of the city … where
The Cheeseman stall is open most days and sells a huge range of marvellous UK and continental cheeses even now (although as you’d expect the prices of EU artisan cheeses has shot up post Brexit 😢) … and here in this village on the outskirts our ‘village shop’ is a large Waitrose and I can always get Reblochon de Savoie from there (at least I’ve never had a problem so far 🤞).

Takes me back to happy holidays with my Welsh cousins and their ponies on the Gower @AnnaB 😊
Hope the vertigo clears up. My MIL gets random spells of vertigo … her doctor says it’s a result of her under active thyroid  :/

Woken to the sound of torrential rain, again.
I am home alone, Moira is flying up to visit her Mum, a journey I am just not up to at the moment.

  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
Wet here too @punkdoc … son has just left for work … he has to pick up a vehicle and get it to Ipswich for 9. It’s ok, Moira knows we’ll keep an eye on you. Hope she has a good trip 🤞

Morning all, it's warmer out there today, about 10c and it's getting brighter so hoping for sunshine. We've had to get up early as we're expecting the driveway people to turn up any minute, although they might hang on until after the school run - we have a large primary nearby on a very narrow road. I shall be very disappointed if they don't come.

OH is hobbling around with a bad back but doesn't know what caused it unless it was too much driving on Friday. He's dosed up and I've given him my heat thingie to wear.

Your cheese shop sounds very good @Dovefromabove, OH would be in heaven. I don't eat much cheese at all which I know I should.

Cheer up @punkdoc, you'll be able to get up and go to bed when you like, eat and drink what you like and have your music as loud as you please - what's not to like?

Have a good day folks. Hope all those with ailments improve soon.

    Good morning from snowy Luxembourg,

as predicted we woke up to white rooves but roads all OK. Went out to our annual expedition to buy panettone and also did some other food shopping.
Spotted an expired polenta packet in the cupboard so that's our lunch, very appropriate weather wise.

Cheeeese! @Dovefromabove. I haven't yet encountered a cheese I don't like. Heavenly stuff. My favourite at this time of year is Wensleydale with cranberries, hopefully a friend visiting the UK will bring some 😋

Have a good day all of you and take care in the cold.

@Lizzie27 is your new driveway going to be done in compressed marble and resin? We need to do ours as well and thinking of going that way.

  • I too am a cheese addict @coccinella … any cheese any time … I prefer it to chocolate any day 😋

Has anyone seen the bag of plain flour I bought on Saturday?  It’s nowhere in the kitchen … I even checked the back of the car … 😵‍💫 just as well I bought it because it was on offer rather than because we’re running out … 🙄

Out for breakfast, glorious sunshine and a sea view. What a change after the chilly weekend. Our next house will have to have a decent view of the sky. I think one of the reasons we go out so much is that our view of the sky at home is blocked by all the trees. Quite a few of them are to the south as well, so they definitely restrict the light. Now that the leaves have mostly fallen, we do get a lot more light at the back of the house. At the front, our view of the houses on the hill opposite us is blocked by trees. As autumn progresses, we start to see all the houses appear. At night, it reminds me of Swiss mountain villages. I also have to remember to close the curtains in the bedroom at night! Don’t want to terrify the neighbours!
