I’d agree on the requirement for physio first being a delaying tactic. Friend had the same thing, long wait for the physio, which didn’t help, and she could hardly do the exercises with the pain. She splashed out on a private consultant appointment and X-ray which confirmed she did need the hip replacement. Had it done on the NHS.

I’ve been out to check the rain gauge - whoopee 63 mils! Ā There’s water in the little dam in front of the house which has been dry for ages and also there’s water laying over our various driveways. We’re heading into town for our weekly shop, but not much needed. We are feeling very pleased.Ā

and we are pleased for you @Pat E. I hope you had a pleasant shopping trip.

Misty morning here and brrrr ... cold. Sipping my first cup of tea of the morning wrapped up in a very warm dressing gown. Must keep quiet as OH is still asleep upstairs. Later I will have lunch with friends and perhaps we will have a look at the Christmas markets.Ā

I think things have settled down a bit over there, Dove. I hope so, anyway.

Good morning all. Ā Hello @Pat E glad you got some wet weather!

Yes, cold and overcast here too @coccinella but we will have a high of 15°C and maybe a peep of the sun this afternoon.  Such a drastic change in the past week with the golden autumn we had up until last Thursday.  Enjoy your lunch.  Bon appetit!!

Ā I have contacted my surgeon and have an appointment for the end of December. Ā It will start the ball rolling as the operation won't be forthcoming as there are x-rays to do to determine the size of the prothesis, blood tests etc. Ā I am a bit worried my garden will be left unattended in spring and a summer vegetable garden will be out of the question. Ā I had my left hip done in 2017 and it took me a good 6 months to get back on track - I know there has been good progress since then. Ā My BIL (80) had a hip op anterior method (in NZ) - and was up and running almost straightaway with very little pain. Ā My sister had to practically tie him down! Ā  Ā

Today; Ā salutations to the Andrews on this site but.......
Neige de Saint André, peut cent jours durer.

Ā No snow here, but the lemon tree is fleeced.

Stay warm everyone and stay safe.  Bonne journée!!

    Hi all

We have had the first snow of the year, just a light dusting, I’m thinking icing sugar on Stollen, probably because I just fancy a piece.
Early recovery after my first hip was rapid, @tui34, but it was 3 months still I felt the full benefit, really wanting the next one done now.
