What a worry, @Busy-Lizzie, good to get him on antibiotics quickly though, that should help.
Good that you are being checked up on, @Lizzie27. Hopefully the nasties aren’t too nasty if they can be monitored six monthly, obviously something you could well do without but not to panic.
Back from a trip to the dentist, she has managed to do a repair on the tooth I broke a couple of weeks ago. Not much tooth left, but hopefully it will hold for a few years more. Also impressed that she spotted the ulcer on my cheek caused by the sharp edge. She has taken a photo of it, and instructed me to come back if it’s not gone in two weeks. Very thorough, and nice to know I am in good hands.
The temperature is starting to drop here. A lovely moon visible as well as lots of stars. Glad I got the recycling put out earlier, don’t fancy wandering through the garden in the cold and dark, it’s a bit scary out there!

Thanks for the good wishes - again! folks. Seems to be one thing after another at the moment but have stopped panicking @Ergates. The GP emailed a Patient Info Leaflet over to me which I've read carefully which is reasonably reassuring. Glad the tooth treatment was ok.

The driveway's in a right mess so do hope nobody tries to visit us tonight, big pile of old tarmac in the middle! I might escape tomorrow and hopefully meet a friend for TLC.

Good news @Busy-Lizzie that your OH has got the antibiotics so quickly.

  • Hello and good evening all.

Hope poorly peeps start to feel better soon, and @punkdoc be good ( to a point) whist the wife's away. 😉

I've been baking teacakes this evening, and it's been an effort, the dough didn't rise well at first, then it got too warm and started to cook.... first batch over done 2nd batch a bit pasty... I was watching SCD on catch up and should have concentrated more....once toasted they'll be fine.... 🤞

Charlie back at school, we enjoyed our tartiflette and a good chat. He starts driving lessons the week after next... Scary but true. Looking forward to having a chauffeur. 😅

Ooh, so envious of those of you enjoying tartiflette! No point trying to make it myself, as OH doesn’t like anything with cooked cheese, but it occasionally pops up on the farmshop specials menu, so I always have it then.
How scary to have Charlie starting driving lessons, seems no time at all that he was going off to his new school.
Have spent much of the evening reading a detective story set in Iceland at Christmas. Despite the room being quite warm, I’m feeling oddly chilled. I shall be expecting to see snow outside in the morning. ( It’s a bit like when we went to see BladeRunner in the cinema, and came out amazed to find that it wasn’t raining)

Morning all. We had good solid rain last night. I haven’t been out to check the rain gauge because Hubby is with a mate today travelling to Orange and I’m nervous about losing my balance out there.  Never mind, it’ll still be there later.

    hello to everyone.

    Good Morning Forkers

it's three jumpers time, again, but it is right it should be so. Pity the perennial grey skies.
How are you @punkdoc, any news on the second op yet?
Good you trust your dentist @Ergates, I think my new one is good too.
The antibiotics should kick in soon @Busy-Lizzie and he should be feeling better.
Times flies @D0rdogne_Damsel, it really does. Sigh.

Hugs to all who feel poorly

Yes Dove. He was gone from 7 am until 5.30 pm. Big trip. Cold here and rain - not heavy, but constant.

    Morning everybody,
cold and grey but dry at the minute.
The digger on the drive is going great guns, they have most of the tarmac off and the
underneath looks in fairly solid condition in most places.
As I'm going up to the Cemetery with a pot of tiny red roses (my Dad loved them) later, I've arranged to meet a friend for coffee and cake at the nearby GC. I need to get some J.I. No.3 for potting up a couple of roses after I've dug them up. A Chandos Beauty is struggling where I planted it so going to try it in a pot.

Send some teacakes over here @D0rdogne_Damsel, I'm sure they'll taste good. Didn't realize Charlie's now old enough to learn to drive - goodness me!

Hope everybody who's poorly feels a bit better today.

That's long, lonely day for you @Pat E, glad your OH got back safely, doesn't sound a nice journey in bad weather.
