Morning all, that's a bummer @punkdoc after getting yourself psyched up for the op, lets hope it can be done shortly. Lovely pictures @chicky very envious! I had a super holiday in Croatia many, many years ago, @D0rdogne_Damsel loved it and the islands too, well worth a visit. We've had a lot of much needed rain overnight and a bit windy but nothing more than usual, the sun is trying to come out now.
Kyoto garden envy @chicky I have been there but sadly it was a tightly scheduled business trip so saw almost nothing of it, just a few hasty snaps from the train and minibus like this distant view of, I think, Fushimi-Momoyama Castle.
The Japanese high speed trains are a great way to travel around Japan, highly recommended DD.
Lovely pics @chicky. I'm not one for long-distance travel, but if I had more stamina and more ££££s Japan would be my country of choice to visit.
How awful @punkdoc that you sabotaged your appointment yourself with a wretched cold. Hope it is a rapid-turnaround one and you can get another hip-op appointment soon.
Relatively quiet here weather-wise. Occasional bursts of heavy rain and a bit of wind but wondering - is this it? Or are we just holding our breath to see what happens?
I heard from @WonkyWomble earlier ... her Lovely Hub went to work early this morning and he phoned to tell her it took him 40 minutes just to travel a couple of miles to work ... he said that she should stay at home ... she's getting her accounts ready for her tax return
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
It’s very showery and grey here now. It was better this morning so managed to do the SM run without getting soaked after my Pilates class. It’s a bit breezy here, but nothing like the Channel Islands, thankfully. We had a drenching and floods around and about during last weeks storm, but it seems, fortunately, that despite the heavy rain last night, the surrounding areas don’t seem too bad 🤞and I hope it remains so, as the ground is so saturated. There are people unable to get back into their houses for at least a year as they’ve been so badly flooded - some flood water reached about 6 feet in some houses.
Oh what a disappointment for you @punkdoc. I hope that you don’t have to wait too long for the rescheduled appointment.
I hope that the long covid hasn’t affected your heart, @Nanny Beach, and that you soon start to feel stronger.
Lovely photos of those gardens in Japan @chicky. It all looks so clean.
Hello @Dovefromabove & everyone. I've a thumping migraine today, but I just wanted to say I hope everyone is surviving the big storm OK. Here we presently have only very light winds and no more rain so far. Hopefully the flood waters are beginning to recede. Stay safe out there folks.
