  • We took advantage of a dry spell to do some sorting out of the many pots we have. I was looking at a blueberry plant (present from OH's sister) and thinking "whats all this weed growth on top". It was the most lush watercress I have seen in ages. Now I do grow watercress in pots but it hasn't been very good this year, kept going to seed, some must have got onto blueberry pot. Guess what we had for a garnish on our lunch!
Little wins-  just as well I'm easily pleased  :D

Afternoon/evening all, forgot to post this morning but nothing much has happened today. Was disappointed to wake up and find it was raining, hadn't expected that after such a sunshiny dry day yesterday and hadn't checked the weather forecast last night either. Did cheer up a bit with news of a Premium Bond win, will put it towards the new teeth!
Kind of enjoyed a soggy walk with OH to fetch the paper but he had to turn back early as his hip/knee was painful.
I did some even soggier leaf clearing with a new bigger broom for an hour or so before lunch but it didn't make much dent in the piles of leaves along the paths.

After lunch I wrapped OH's birthday presents ready for Tuesday, sorted out more stuff for the charity shop and climbed on the stepstool (forbidden activity!) to delve into the kitchen wall cabinets. I'm not allowed to chuck OH's collection of assorted engraved beer mugs from various beer festivals from the 1970/1980/1990's so they've been put back.

Lots of other glasses can go, think I must have bought up Ikea's stock of glasses when we had my 60th birthday party! I've also found rolls and rolls of a thickish brown paper/cardboard up on the landing but haven't a clue why we've got them. Into the compost bin with them!

    Best wishes @Nanny Beach

    Commiserations @punkdoc.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend - I hope the fireworks don't keep you all awake.

My little river that was very low in the summer has started to overflow. The lawn is squelching. More rain is forecast.

We've been hanging family photos up the stair well. I've searched the loft again but 4 photos are missing, SIL as a little girl, me as a baby, my parents wedding day and my father in his army uniform when he fought in the war. They should have been in the same box as the other photos. The removal men made such a mess of the packing.

    Evening everyone.

It’s been a quiet day here. I did my food shop yesterday so I could have a PJ morning and I did a few jobs, including sorting a few bags for the charity shop (two jigsaws out: 2 in).

Warm thoughts to those with bad luck, bad news and bad weather.

Feel sorry for those with pets who fear the fireworks as the noise will be going tonight and tomorrow, rain seems no deterrent to the back-garden spend-thifts.

    Have a good evening.

Have to agree, some years it's like the Somme  out there,  comes to something when even double glazed windows rattle. Mind you Diwali is the worst.

Another cold overcast day here. I’m rugged up again, but the clouds refuse to produce any rain.  Sorry you are all getting it. 😏

We made the effort to do our walkies out the back, so I feel less guilty now.

    Wombat poo 😳

Yes, of course, Dove. They are a nuisance for digging holes under fences in paddocks everywhere.

The resultant lifted wire fences allow sheep, Roos and other animals to get into paddocks not intended for them. Grrr!  😏

  • Yes @Pat E wildlife don’t understand about fences do they?  I understood they’re quite scarce in some regions as they used to be treated as vermin before they were protected. Do they burrow into dams too?
