last night was a success!! Sold out and lots of nice moneys for the charity for children with brain injury. We were really chuffed by the warmth of the audience. Two players came from Manchester so the "special guests" sold well 🤣🤣🤣.
Today is another big Lux event: the International Bazaar, food and crafts from all over the world. I used to volunteer but chronic backache has put a stop to it.
I am glad you had a little "day off" @Badly_Maintained, love your flowers still blooming now.
Afternoon all. Clearly I'm doing way too much walking. I have a blister on the ball of my foot. My body is telling me I should concentrate on being horizontal on the sunbed. 28C here now. Time for lunch. Hugs to all poorly peeps and to @D0rdogne_Damsel. X
Good afternoon, dry, cold but lovely and bright. Went for a walk, nothing exiting, just s small park with a lake, round the back from where OH'S bungalow was. At last something useful on the street WhatsApp. A place in Queensbury, selling water softener salt at a genuine discount, we have about 6months worth in stock now. We could have had more but not enough room to keep it. @D0rdogne_Damsel, it sounds like your ex is guilty of coercive control, I don't know about France but its recognised as a crime here now. I think you have been given good advice.
Afternoon all, woke up to a really hard frost this morning, not unexpected as it was only 1c when we went to bed. Gad I covered up the greenhouse and moved some potted plants to the side of the house. Enjoyed our usual walk. I must be getting better as I managed the 1.5 mile walk without having to stop for a rest halfway so that's a big improvement. Just need to lose some more weight which will help.
My poor daughter might be made redundant before Xmas, impeccably bad timing as she's in a 'down' phase at the moment. I can't help feeling very worried.
First of all, thank you all for your kind and wise words and for just 'being there ' for me. I'm living a pretty lonely existence at the moment once I leave work so having this space and all your news and chatter really helps.
Being the "boss" at work means I can't get too close to the staff, we're a great working team but at the end of the day there's a line... The same with customers. Charlie away all week is hard, especially without a "significant other" in my life, so being able to drop in on this friendly supportive group really feels good.
I know a lady that used to be work in mental health and she says she recognises the signs in ex - OH of serious a personality disorder which is extremely difficult to manage. When your guard is down he can very easily convince you black is white. All very difficult.
I'm so lucky Charlie is not t like him at all and does recognise there are issues.
Anyway, my book kept me riveted and I've had a very busy day at work today, our annual Christmas Craft Market, I get to see Charlie at 6pm tomorrow until he gets the train Monday morning. It'll do for now, I'd rather be alone than coerced into being somewhere I don't want to be.
Hoping to watch SCD this evening, but the TV is playing up again. 🙄 I might just give it a kick...
Have a lovely evening all and thanks again for your company and your hugs.
