Hazel, I haven't seen as many starlings in my garden this year as last year. I love the noise their youngsters make as they line up along the garage roof begging their parents for food.

  • Got everything crossed for you @rowlandscastle444๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
  • As at tonight, it's very much a "maybe". Our solicitors weren't affected, but.it only takes one. We stand to lose the most if they can't sort it out. Plus the bungalow we wanted.

Tomorrow, the removal company arrive early, and will start packing up. But they may end up putting it all back.

But we are praying that it will all be sorted, and the move goes ahead. We can only sleep on it!ย
  • We've been sitting here, considering the implications of it doesn't go ahead.
Our phone is getting cut off tomorrow, and a new landline number installed. That'll confuse the current owner.
Then, we have some furniture being delivered the first week of December, plus food shopping.
Then, our mail is being redirected for six months.ย
    I've already changed the insurance.
Then, we have a new gas and electricity contract starting on 1st December, plus our water contract is being transferred.
Plus, we were given a leaving gift by our church. I've already resigned my membership, and my wife has stepped down from two church responsibilities.ย
So, this move HAS to go ahead.

This is just beyond a joke @rowlandscastle444! Never had these troubles before the internet problems etc. Can you not make some phone calls - your buyers bank/mortgage company to say they have the money ready to send, straight to your bank (miss out the solicitors causing the trouble) - your bank to confirm to your new purchase that it has your money to proceed. Sale/purchase goes ahead, do the paperwork later?? Sorry this is a bit muddled but you get the idea. Bet your buyers would be happy too.
    Good luck.

Fingers crossed that by tomorrow night @rowlandscastle444 you will be safely esconced in your new home.๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
  • No, it's not muddled, just plain common sense.
Been on the phone to solicitors four times, estate agents for purchase and sale, plus removal company.

Basically, we have to wait until later..ย

Good morning and oh good grief @rowlandscastle444! As if the move itself wasn't becoming a bit of a nightmare! I am so sorry for you and all others caught up in this dreadful situation. I've everything crossed here that some resolution is arrived at soon.

It is severely frosty here this morning - all cars looking as if they have painted white roofs. My car looks two tone with its side nearest the house is clear and its far side covered in ice. Yesterday I had to remove a film of ice from the bird bath in the back garden as the woodpigeon was very confused. I may have to do similar today but suspect the ice may be even thicker than yesterday. Wrap up warm everyone and take care when you go out.
