I've managed to create mayhem already this morning. Prior to Oh going out ย I decided ย to bring in the bird feeder ( with some seed in it.) to get the tray off that we'd stuck under the bottom. It had filled with rainwater. ย In my half awake state, I turned it upside down in the bin, missed, and proceeded to tip bird seed all over the kitchen floor. ๐Ÿ˜ซThey rolled everywhere. Out ย came the hoover and whilst spreading them all over the place, did manage to get them up eventually.ย
    I needed a cuppa after that.๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

    Good morning everyone.
Makes a change to see that the sun is shining - must be in honour of Ante's visit! Did I see you might go to Kew gardens @Ante1? Might be worth trying to book a date so you can combine your visit with seeing their winter lights. I haven't been but my London based family have and they said that previous displays have been spectacular๐Ÿ™‚ Think the light shows started this weekend.

You might also find it's a good time to go to any major sights such as Tower of London, Hampton Court etc. This week is out of both peak tourist season and school holidays. My favourite museum is the Victoria & Albert, closely followed by the British Museum and the National Gallery. They're all free entry.

If you need anything while you're here feel free to PM me. I'm only an hour away and happy to help if you have a problem๐Ÿ™‚

Seems you're all getting on with festive stuff. Finished my shopping this weekend (smug face - but I really don't need to buy much at all) but feeling very cross about one Big River delivery last night. It was literally just thrown over the gate and left in the middle of the drive. We happened to spot a delivery email and only found the item after getting out and searching in the dark. Nothing was damaged but what if it had been a book left lying in the rain all night? Or we'd driven over it in the dark? Grrrr... think we need to complain about it but no idea how.

Glad it wasn't the bottle of whisky I bought for OH - although that was only a ยฃ30 one - not ยฃ2.1 million ๐Ÿ˜‰

I will try and bag up some of the leaves I raked into a couple of huge piles last week and then deal with some admin stuff. Ho hum - tedious but necessary....

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Afternoon all.

SGL, I'm sorry to hear that you re not feeling well. Hope it will pass soon, and also hope that you will sleep better.ย

It was, and still is very dark day. No rain, but very unpleasant. I prepared everything, and now just need to rest a bit, and around 2am set off to airport. I saw on forecast that might be snow in UK, mostly in northern parts. I don't mind to see few snowflakes floating around.ย  ย ย

Engineer has been and gone, Boiler is ok, the radiators need a good power flushing out which should sort the noise. Have contacted our plumber chap who said he would come and do it. Just waiting on a date.ย
SGL, Im sorry ย to hear you're not sleeping ย too well. I hope that settles soon for you.ย

    Good afternoon all.
Ante - early to bed tonight. and if you get chance to look in - sigurno putovanje!
Hazel, been there, done that and got the T-shirt - referring to your bird seed disaster. I've also done similar with those little round, brown fertiliser pellets and they still keep turning up no matter how carefully I've used the Noo Noo. Glad its nothing major wrong with your boiler.
T'Bird, what I still can't get my head around with this whisky investment is a) it never gets drunk(?) and b) who are the people who will actually pay that much for a bottle of whisky? Go figure! I would be incensed if that happened to one of my deliveries and I would certainly be in touch with the Big River company. I had some bird food delivered today and its box was rather battered but as the food is in a very tough plastic (boo!) bag the contents remain safe.
    @AvondalePatrick do tell - pass??
@rowlandscastle444 its rained for most of today and I am out quizzing tonight - its a cup match. Never participated in one of these before so should find it interesting.
    Good to see you SGL

    Thank you LB.ย

T'bird, I already booked two or three things to see in London. Kew and cruise on Thames depend on weather condition. I looked and there is always tickets to buy, so if I decide to go it will not be a problem. Thank you for advice about Christmas lights in Kew.ย  ย ย
