    Good morning all,

It’s quite still for now and dry, but that is set to change to wet and breezy as the day goes on.

    πŸ’ @star gaze lily.

If you find some old boxes that you can cut to cover round your pictures, have you got some old sheets that you could then wrap each picture in, tied up with plenty of string? The sheets would act as a cushion (or maybe use bubble wrap, though I appreciate that is plastic which you might not want to use) @rowlandscastle444 .

Beautiful photos from your verandah @Ante1. How lovely to have such a view to look out on whilst drinking your tea.

  • We threw out lots of old dust sheets and the like. So regretting it now.Β
Plenty of old wallpaper. Thank you for the ideas.Β

    Morning all.

I'm sorry you are feeling so down @star gaze lily. I don't suppose winter and Christmas help. I hope family can be around for you.

We are going to the village pub for Sunday lunch with our best friends here. The new owners only recently started doing Sunday lunches. Friend will bring my raffle prize.

Good afternoon all. Oh my but what a dreadful day it is. Enough said!
SGL, I am so, so sorry that you have had some horrible days. These things take time to adjust to but you know where we are.
@rowlandscastle444 I LOVE your pictures. I used towels to wrap my large pictures when I moved. They worked well.

For the opinion and advice. Certainly whatever I pack around them, they'll have to have cardboard around that.
I'll look up the artist's website. He just moved off the Isles of Scilly, but we used to stay in the guesthouse, then apartments, many times. My profile photo was taken from their top apartment last year. We first went in 1998. Loved the islands. A real holiday destination for us.

I'm still full after roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and 6 different kinds of veg followed by raspberry and lemon cheesecake. My raffle prize was 3 little bottles of whisky from a local distillery. Good thing I like whisky! Don't often drink it though.

Sounds like a nice meal Busy. Maybe if you hang on to the whisky long enough it might do just what that bottle of Macallan 1926 whisky went for at auction the other day in London - some Β£2.1m, breaking the world record. T'Bird if you peek in - that was certainly some investment!

Weekend is definitely over and we have to be up at an ungodly hour in the morning.  We have a gas engineer coming anytime between 8am and 6pm, so will have to be ready by 8am, gawd😬
Boiler has started rumbling when hot tap open so hopefully it will get sorted tomorrow. We have a feeling the temperature was set too high ( not by us) but every so, the boiler shouldn't grumble and rumble like it does.
    Night all.Β
