Good morning Biglad, LB and all to follow.

    Welcome @AvondalePatrick!

We have beautiful sunny and calm morning. It's bank holiday and it's so peaceful outside. Maybe because everybody have free day, and probably sleep longer. I'll for sure go later to front garden, and start clearing. I have one plan for next year, and it's better to start now. First tea.Β

Good morning Ante - only 3 days to go now. You must be getting excited I think.

LB, I'm quite excited, and mostly because all Christmas atmosphere. I had slightly problem with hotel, but now is all sorted. My first hotel couldn't axcept my visa card (don't know why) so booking was canceled yesterday. Luckily that's London, and there is a lot of option to choose. New hotel is near Hyde park and Kensington, it's all payed and I have a confirmation.Β  Β

    Good morning,

We have a dreary start to the day today, grey and drizzly.

Glad you got your hotel sorted out @Ante1. Not long now until you get here. I imagine all the festive lights will be very pretty to see in London.

    Welcome to the forum @AvondalePatrick.

Well, a cuppa beckons, so wishing you all a good day.

    Morning all.

I'm glad you got your parcel eventually, @Red maple.

Welcome @AvondalePatrick, I hope your train wasn't delayed too long. I've been to County Wicklow on a riding holiday and visited a couple of gardens as well. It's a pretty area.

Last night we went to a musical play, The Baker's Wife, in a local village hall. It was very well done and we enjoyed it. When we came home OH went to bed but I wasn't sleepy so I watched the last episode of the new series of "Time" about 3 women in prison. It was very moving ang brilliantly acted.

Today we are going to a Christmas Craft Fair in another local village hall.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all. Miserable and damp here too this morning but not as cold. I've opened up all cold frames and greenhouse and domes over plants as I thought we were in for a mild frost last night....but we didn't apparently.
Quietish day on the cards for us today. Must ring mum and brother to get the latest on the house and Home front.Β

    Question for everyone......

Does anyone use Flora margarine one on here? We have, for years, good for health and lovely and spreadable.
Our last four tubs have been rock hard and when spreading on bread, it tears the bread.pAnyone Β else found this?Β

I read on-line that they have taken out all dairy and made it totally vegan now. I'm wondering if by doing that, that's the reason for it being so hard now?

Glad that you got the hotel situation sorted out Ante. Bit of a worry there.
Nice to hear you enjoyed your theatrical evening Busy and a Christmas Fair to look forward to - I wonder if anything will tempt you.
Hazel I used to use Flora quite a long time ago and it was always spreadable from the fridge. I switched to Benecol for the health reasons and it is always nice and soft. When I'm baking cakes I use Lurpak which is also spreadable from the fridge and therefore nice for doing the fat and sugar blend at the start of the cake making.

I've chickened out and stayed in the dry. Taking stock of all the indoor plants instead.

I took a number of cuttings earlier this year and dumped them in water to see what would root. Quite a few did and are now in pots on various windowsills. I understood all bar one to be salvia hotlips (most of the cuttings were from that plant because I definitely want more), but, having actually looked at the new foliage, I have an imposter. The lemon balm cutting is going great guns :)Β

The lemon plant has been staked to support the two new fruit and the sole, rogue tomato plant has gone in the compost after the last of the 3 fruit it bore was eaten. There's room in the back porch for something now ;)Β Β
